Melville Beach, WA, AU.  Quick session with Fingers, Jay and Nauli. Rigged the big gear but booted as going out.  Overcooked at first and no way to hold power down.  Came in to change down but as soon as opened van, wind dropped right off so out again for a light cruise.  iSonic 117, SvT 8.6, FF28

Shell Beach, Shark Bay. Finally had a run here. Beautiful spot and while the left boob isn't very flat, even in the light breeze this afternoon, its still a heap better than the Denham foreshore. I know the cleavage is the spot but couldn't find a way there. AV68/Weedspeed26/SV Turbo 7.0

Hi Maree, it was between 5 and 6pm and was not far off high tide. At the start had to walk out 150m but by the end was only a 50m walk which was cool. At least there is no weed and no rocks to hit like at the Denham foreshore! Also could easily get there with 2WD if kept off the loose stuff. Wasn't keen on doing too many runs to the other side in case the wind dropped suddenly (as it's been doing here lately around sunset) but easy enough to sail to the other side each time in reliable winds. I was pretty happy to get a sail considering how ridiculously calm it's been all day.We went on the Aristrocrat2 catamaran off Monkey Mia today and there wasn't even a ripple on the water which made it a fantastic day to see dolphins, dugong, rays, turtles and even a manta ray.

Flex, I totally get your dilema with sizing your gear with flukey winds. A problem I've had here while in Denham as sometimes the wind keeps building during the afternoon to balistic levels by sunset and through the night and other times it just suddenly drops off with no return. You end up with gear too big or small but hardly ever just right!
