Andrew Haigh (51852km): ![]() Coal Point, NSW, AU Southerly 18-30+ Stingray 140, Flow 1500, Naish 5.4 Tried to wait for the rain to pass, should have waited a bit longer. Turned out to be a good high wind session apart from a 10 min blast of driving rain and 30+, followed by a visit by a couple of chaps in black suits. Just Sue and I. | ||||||||||||||||||
sboardcrazy (26271km): ![]() 10-24kts + SSE Coal Point, NSW, AU 5m gator- WT57 ( 90ltres) - 24cms WT weedy I'd been watching it on the webcam all day . 25-30kts then heavy rain and 0 kts, repeat ..The radar looked clear and Andrew said it had been 12-18kts settled so down I went. Got there to 16 degrees with 25-30kts and horizontal rain.. Andrew had just come in in survival mode.. It seemed to settle and the radar was clear so I reluctantly rigged the 5m and 90 ltre. Andrew said it was pretty rough so I would have preferred the waveboard, but it's a sinker for me these days, and I wouldn't have been able to get out the bay. I was a bit underdone, but I enjoyed the stronger stuff, and where it was a bit flatter had some nice bearaways. I hoped for better speeds but I was a bit underpowered and it was lumpy. Couldn't put the power down in the rougher stuff . I was trying to keep the board on the water with the ramps. Saw a shark near Marks point as I was slogging. I fell in there later , took a while to get started , and tried not to think of the shark.. I didn't stay out long as it was hard work and my toe was very sore from the pressure of the strap. So glad I went. That was fun! Nice to have some company. Andrew & I |
