Boombas, WA, AU  On arrival spied first teabag at this spot and a familar Simmer sail and two other sails.  Very cold.   Had 3 experiments to try out and started out on Warp drive fin V5, first attempt at foil asymetric shape shifting.  A few more of the usual suspects turned up.   Didn't really expect fin to last more than a few meters but surprised it felt good and did all the things a fin should.  Gybed and got about 20 meters before high pressure side of fin parted so was a long walk back to base.  Next up was V4 but had failed to test check the tuttle thread on the hollow control bolt.  Nut seemed to cross thread and didn't want to force it and ruin the fin so shelved that.  Then was warp sail V2, had planned to finish this off on site as needed final alignment and thought I had packed the drill to punch the alignment holes but in my haste to get out the door left it sitting on the kitchen bench.   Thus, no more experiments and just went out on the tried and tested V2 fin.  Turns out Antman back in town so a cold chat with him.   Was more of a cruise sail then Rob came out and killed the wind.  Everyoe else had called it but went out again to keep Rob company but wind was intermittant at best so called it too. iSonic 86, KAR 5.7, FF22 Warp V5 and V2

Boombers. Turned up about 8 with young foil guru aiden to find not much breeze and freezing. Rigged up and realised I didn't have a magnet for my gps. Bugger! Hit the water and breeze picked up a bit and was pretty pleasant apart from frozen feet. Came in and got my gps when some cars turned up but was pretty done. Stoked to see antman back! Nice session on the Windtech CM (9'4") starting out at dog statues beach and heading up into Lucky bay for a couple of nice runs before wind fizzled out. Wind was nice and dense. Tried out Neils latest creation (9footer) and going to order one! Bloody awesome Neil!

Was looking good around 10am when I got there, but was too bloody cold so went and picked up the kids and came back. Scott was scoffing some Subway when I got there and we watched the wind drop out.

So 7.7m 135 41MK3 to start with... Had some nice runs with numb feet and hands. There were a few good gusts coming through and started to see a few 36s on the dial- big board was getting.... big.... so came back in for a drink and to warm up the hands and the wind had booted a bit so put the 118 on with 34.

First run out hit 38 on the dial fully wound over the back of the bar... felt aweseome. After a couple of runs it seemed to be picking up. Quick rest stop due to zero sailing fitness and noticed the wind went back to the east a bit more making a big wind shadow near shore, and hiding the fact that it was nuking out the back... getting planing was pretty untidy overpowered- and it just got more windy the further out I went. Since the water was cold, and I was only in a 3/2 short arm suit I didnt want to swim, so kept going looking for a lull. Found a 25kt lull and gybed, but then it filled in immediately and I couldn't sheet in to rotate the sail- especially with the undersized fin... So I sailed back half spinning out, fully sheeted out with the cams on the wrong side- wind was gusting to low 30s so pretty hard to sheet in with a 7.7m! Was done after that so called it quits... which the wind did also.

nice to get powered up finally! Its been a slow start to winter...

Edit: Just saw the wind graph for the river... 30-37kts hahaha no wonder I was struggling to sheet in. That was my second fastest run for the session on the way out just after 1pm... Caught the front of it for the downwinder- totally lit going stupidly broad, and struggled to get back in... yeeeehar I'm awake now
