Point Grey, WA, AU A play at Boombas. Plenty of weedburgs played dodgem. Joined by flex who started rigging a 7, that didn’t last long. We both had 5.7 us, got choppy when wind booted, not so bad if your in a proper fin but on the deltas was getting a bit sketchy😜 AV 52 KAR5.7 Delta 18

Point Grey, WA, AU Sketchville with the Bozinator.  Arrived to find Boz chugging in a light breeze so started rigging 7m...that did the trick and the wind booted so rigged 5.7.   Was sketchy/terrifying at first with the massive weedbergs and the chop borderline with the small fins but the wind eased off a bit and was slightly more manageable but still pretty sketchy trying to send it.  Hit a large limestone rock at speed and thought that would be the end of the board but everything seemed to survive but then the wind spun westerley and changed gear...almost made it back to base but became outside my pay grade and opted to walk back to live another day.   Headed to Melville to get some drone footage of the real nutters which of course put chop size in perspective.  iSonic86, KAR5.7, FF18V4

Melville... far out brussel sprout that was windy.

Looked pretty choppy when I got there, with some good bullets to high 20s, so decided to try out the 5.8m since I never get to use it.

5.8m Rapid 57 WSP 25.

Then the wind really booted... and with it came the chop! Wild rides through random moguls popping up everywhere... and brutal bullets thrown in. Was getting way too dangerous to send it so came in for a rethink...

Out with the 118 Radix (yep... 30-35kt gusts and I go the 73cm board with a 5.8). Chucked the weedspeed 33 in for stability, and let her rip.

Jim had his drone out when I lined up a gust for a 38 2sec through the moguls... wicked fun. The wind  started to swing more westerly and I got one more sick gust (got 39 max) before it backed off and locked in as a WNWer. Wind came back after 30 minutes and saw Scott having fun, so went back out. Fantastic swell lines out the back where you could fully send it. Just a bit underpowered at that point so couldn't get over 37s... but soooo much fun, and orders of magnitude easier than the NWer.

Great day for some recalibration. Good fun sailing with Scott, Kwon and Ben... Thanks for the moral support Jim. You made us all feel cold when you were sitting there in your shorts :)

Well done Chris in hardcore conditions. I reckon the inner dolphin wind meter under reports on a NW ... it was windy.

yeah some of those bullets seemed more than 35... the way the spray was coming off the chop. Well done persisting in that. It was really brutal! Character building stuff.

No wonder it was choppy... 40cm storm surge on the river as soon as the wind kicked in. No chance to go fast in 1.3m tide there.

Quick vid of Melville today.  Chop looks nothing like reality.  Only the real nutters were out.  (probably crap music, just mute it)  https://youtu.be/E-YgEApwUr8
