Coodanup, WA, AU Pond with Jim and Al. Arrived and it was blowing 25 and Al in da Pond flying. Jim and Woody turned up and wind died to 8-10 knts. I was rigged so I thought why not I’ve seen this before. Got in da Pond and nothing for about 20 mins then it was on. Jim came in and Woody left. Had a couple of brutal runs in da chop and got my 39 so I was stoked. Wind pretty consistent after that but nothing gnarly. Wind still blowing as I was packing up so left with a smile 😃 . 74ltr FMX 6.3 Loft R/Blade 25 W/S

Coodanup, WA, AU Nice session in the pond with Richo and Al. Was at the bottom of run for the one big gust that came through and was happy to watch the others ride it.   Conditions suited me, not too strong, tide and angle just right. Came in to find the ever keen Gloria about to start rigg'n.  iSonic97, KAR5.7, TWS29

another angry day at albany as boz would sayLaughing sailed with Tim,Chris,Tim, Lochy and Boz

beacon showed 36kn and 52kn gusting.Every one was trying to send it. some better then others.

some of the gust were so brutal that at 42kn speed, sending it, it was still pulling me over.Surprised. maybe a weight jacket would have helped.

anyway,i just like it when there is that much power.

What a day! Started off with the big board and felt pretty comfy for the most part. Tide was heading out real fast so headed in and got the little board/fin. Felt alright but was way out of position and never really got going again. Still great sailing and company

5.0 56w and 18 sym then nude 46 and 14 delta

Albany

5.8m Apache, 110 Radix (!!!), Delta Sym 20.

Yeeeehar some proper wind. Decided to see how fast I could make my new 110 go, and it was pretty high tide initially so quite choppy. Thought I could get away with a 20 but it was a bit sketchy in the chop and was struggling to put power into it without it getting too loose. As the tide dropped I could put the power in a bit more, and I nailed some sick gusts- short but brutal. Max speed over 44 so super stoked with that for such a big board. Got a couple of 43s then the weed started to get draggy and threatening to throw me over the bars. Headed in with the other guys for a gear change and some food. We were going to move to lilacs but decided to stay at rushy Pt. Faffed around too much not expecting the tide to drop as fast as it did. ronny and Boz went back out while tim and I phaffed. I put the 53 Rapid on with a 16 delta to handle the weed better, but when we hit the water a big squall came through and killed off the wind. Took ages to get to the top of the run, and the weed was super draggy up there. Tim(s), Lachy and I tried to get runs up the top but the wind was way gustier than earlier, and there wasn't anywhere to send it because it was too shallow. I saw Boz and Ronny on the outside downwind having a blast... they headed in as I went to join them but decided to call it quits as the wind was getting really on and off, and didn't want to get stuck. Only had 4 good 10 second runs from the earlier session and had to count a 38 which clobbered by average. The smaller board/fin felt soooo good, and way more solid so I was a bit spewing that I didn't use that in the earlier session. I did hit 40 on it when I was heading back to rushy Pt through the choppy channel at the start of the NM run...

Super stoked to get some sick speeds on the medium board. It will go faster just needs the right size fin... Albany is a tradeoff with the weed though- you are kind of limited to a board that can take a really short delta when the water state gets flat. Next time down there I wont muck around trying big boards hahahaha. The conditions were there for mid-high 40s in the earlier session. Hanging out for another one...

Sailing in wind like that is a rare treat.

EDIT: Just got back and downloded the GT31 Data as this was the complete day, a slight upgrade to the 2 sec and downgrade to the rest but at least the 88 ks in the brutal condition is registered.Laughing

Another brutal at times day, big winds and some big sends from the boyz. Got back winded a couple times also got thrown when the fin grabbed weed and a brutal gust smashed me, one broken batten as a result. Tide went down but also got draggy so changed to 16 Delta, pity the mini motion ran out of juice in the first sesh didn’t realise so 30 Klm not registered which was on the 16Delta. Great Crew everyone watching after each other as it was brutal at times with the wind and chop. AV52 KAR 5.2 Delta Sym 21 Delta 16

Definitely next level nutters down in Albany today.  Glad to hear seems like everyone survived?  Was almost comitted to coming down just to drone the madness but thankfully Richo talked me into the pond

Well done Ronnie and Boz on surviving the Albany blast with some great speeds. Boz gotta be happy with just a broken batten and nothing else. Awesome naughty and 5x10 Ronnie. What no weight jacket …rookie error 😃
