Teralba, NSW, AU. Rippa of a day! 7.0 overdrive and Futura. Felt fast! And a ton of fun. Think I’ve converted Ian into liking westerly’s!

5- 25kts NW Teralba, NSW, AU

 4.5m Blade - WT57 (90ltres) few runs

then WT64 (112ltres) - 32cms WT weedy

I only had 4hrs sleep so energy and motivation were zero when I arrived. Greg K got 15-25kts on the shore ( + 5- 10kts out the middle) and it was solid with rollers. I shouyld have gone out then but I didn't have the waveboard.

Stuffed around and by the time I got out the 4.5m was good in the strong stuff but the 90 was too much hardwork in the lulls. Switched to the 112ltre but it was getting scary in the strong stuff. Got the 2 sec on it.

It was a good confidence boost. After all the injuries lately ( 2 epsiodes of broken rib)  I've lost confidence in strong stuff. Now I know that combo will work when it's solid wind.

Harness line broke and I had to swim for the gear. Luckily it was near the shore but I felt I'd almost had a heart attack by the time I caught it..Undecided My aquapack with the GPS fell down my arm and I ended up swimming with it in my hand. I almost let it go as it's on a leash. Lucky I didn't as the leash had come undone..Time for some new lines.

Good to see Ian and Bryce on the fin.

Bryce was smoking! I don't know he held the 7m but it was very well trained as it used to be mine..Wink

Thanks Sue! Great to meet you at last as well! Always more fun with a few out on the fin, I had a really good day today. It was almost the best day ever, except I lost my little action camera. The mount somehow just came loose and I tried to grab it but missed. Bye bye insta360 :(. If anyone happens to be sailing Teralba side, there’s a slim chance it might wash up I guess. It was in an aluminium cage with an aluminium extension arm though, so I’d imagine it’ll be firmly stuck in the lake sludge at the bottom. See Ian? I keep saying westerly’s are fun at Teralba!
