15-25kts plus S at first then patchier 15-22kkts Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- level 0.29-0.34

 Sailed 10.30 - 12.13 pm with breaks

5.5m Mach2- RS1( 80ltre)  - 16.5cms pepe

1st real speedsail since feb 2022 when I broke my wrist. I've been avoiding strong wind and the shallows and was almost ready to give speed sailing a miss.

I think I'm addicted again..Tongue outTongue out

I decided to give the flats a go as the level was deeper and I figured the rain might stuff the wind at Valentine.

Maxed out with the 5.5m at 1st.

Fun! Some good strong stuff at 1st and flatwater.Tongue out

Very rusty anf unfit. After 10 mins my arms and legs were like jelly..Undecided I didn't try any gybes because I was so unfit.

I didn't get injured!Surprised Wink

Pity about being rusty etc as I could have probably got 34ktsa plus if I was on the ball.

1st real session with the RS1 ( 80ltre) - 1st use of the Pepe. It's a great combo , although the Pepe let go in the channel and I couldn't get it back. That was my fault. Too much pressure before I was up to speed.

One slow catapult into the sail as I got too shallow coming up after a run. You've got to be careful as there are some sand humps that make it much shallower.

It was 31 degrees yesterday and I didn't rug up enough today ( 13 degrees with constant light rain and windchill) . I was ok until I fell in and got my head wet at the end.

By the time I'd undressed and got back into my car I was an iceberg. I was still cold after 50 mins with the heater on full blast. Undecided

Andrew and I at 1st,  then Matt , then Greg , Mike and Bruce. I was the 1st back  in.

Southerly 10-25

Falcon 79, 18.5 nuclear weed and Duotone 5.8

Normal story, huge forecast, but very little in reality.

Still a fun sesh in between the rain showers, which actually never stopped.
