Jimmys beach, nsw. Formula 160, Ezzy Lion 7.5, 47cm carbon. Well powered on the Formula board, tried the f-race 120 board, and it felt like it was stuck in mud, spinout galore.
The flying thong is beastly in gybes. Not sure yet how to handle it, very different to SLW board.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU. Unexpected NE afternoon. Would’ve been a great arvo for foiling, still fun here and there on the fin.

10-15kts NE level 0.21m Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

7.5m turbo M4 - RS4( 111ltres) - 24cms FF

A nice spring NE. I went out by myself for the 1st hr. Mike and Pete came out later.

I found the big sail heavy and exhausting gybing and had to have a lot of rests. Not really powered up enough for bearaways.

I'd like to improve my alphas. I can't line up consistent wind in and out. I got a few ok gybes ( not planing but moving exit) .

 Good practise.

I have been whinging about my Turbo for a few years. The boom cam kept coming off , it looked weird and the sail was flat.

I assumed it was old and worn so just added downhaul ( it had got to 2 extra stops) plus spacers and tightened the batten.

I got Pete and Mike to look at it and they saw it had SDM cams on the RDM. Embarassed EmbarassedUndecided.

Lesson to self -  don't make assumptions..I was thinking the sail was past it's use by date so I didn't look any deeper.

A few years ago I changed all my sails from SDM to RDM. The Turbo must have been overlooked as it was my freeride sail.

I've just changed it to RDMs and I have a'new' sail! Tongue outTongue out

It has a much deeper profile and I can now use the suggested downhaul.

I had it so overdownhauled it had buggerall power. Undecided

I can hardly wait to use it. Tongue out

I do like a ride on the fin! Saturday might be foiling day I think. Tomorrow and Friday I’ll be on the rocket at teralba looking for some speed! 😀

I convinced one leg to get off and try a drag, hopefully the other one follows and body drags this season! Laughing

Good story Sue, the turbo has a new life! Glad you like it Vachy. I don’t know what was happening to 120ltr board yesterday, plenty of wind, I think the holes in it from dunes make problems on smaller fins. Big stuff glides through. Perfect place to learn body drags and have fun. Feeling it today, formula board works the legs.
