22 days ago Melville Beach, WA, AU Arrived to cranking wind, started rigging 5.7 then changed 6.3 as Cannonball going out on 7m which seemed crazy. First run was good but then wind started easing off and couldn't get through the lulls. A lot of sailors with 33cm fins seemed to be taking big risks going across the sandbar in the shallow section which I dared not cross with my 18fin. Sure enough Jay went down hard on one run as did a few others. Gonna be sore tonight. Became more and more of a chug fest so called it. Should have followed your lead Ben. iSonic97, KAR6.3, FF22(18)

No damage but I ended up with sand up my arse which has been difficult to explain to my girlfriend this evening. Have a massive headache, beer is helping numb it. Going to be sore tomorrow….

Another really nice day on the blue, starting to get comfortable still some heart stopping moments with the waves and swell, glood doing the session with Dan and Slowie. Oh and i dd see a dolphin fin, thats what I'm telling myself, seemed strange as it was on it's lonesome and well fed.

Fun sesh with Boz & Slowie out the back at Port Beach. Tested out the new 9'8" Windtech and it handled the swells beautifully. Powered by 7.0 Ezzy Lion with 1cm past max downhaul setting and a little bagged out to touch the boom (thanks for the tip Neil - worked a treat).
Boz, I think I saw the same dolphin. He was a big one and followed me under the nose of my board for about 10secs. Got a bit nervous when I saw his white belly but then I relaxed when I saw it was only a dolphin. Have to do this again - heaps of fun.

Awesome sail again with Boz and Dan. Looked good when I got there- some solid gusts coming through- so rigged 7m 110 and 36MK2. The wind dropped as I was walking down the beach at 4pm- yep lost 3-5kts according to BOM. Had a great sail anyway in 15-20 with a few holes. A few days out here and I've definitely (re)learned a few things you dont notice sailing on flat water. More and more fun each day.
