Jimmy's beach, nsw. If windsurfing is a drug, then this is a heavy form of it, i'm hooked bad now. Almost chucked my job to stay out there. Quicky before work satisfies my fix though. One of my best sessions ever. Cruising along beach, out wide past Yaccaba to sea. Silent. Lovley.
Since i'm flying a slapper, i thought i might try a shim in the rear wing for more lift because the mast track is forward. Maybe it worked, felt better in harness.
Couple of crashes today. Dont think it was shim fault, over power i'd say and gusty near shore. a good 15kts at the end.

An exciting sail in windy conditions. Hung on for the hour but then went in before I damaged myself or the gear. 

Not for the faint hearted.

5 - 12kts puffs to 13kts E Teralba

Wing no 11

5kt peak - 3.6kms distance, untold fall ins  Undecided

I don't know if I'll have the motivation to continue long enough to get good at it.

I went a bit early as I was on my way home from Newcastle. 

I could only stand up on port tack so I  just kneeled the other way. I think it was too sloppy , patchy and light .

I got a decent patch and managed to stand starboard tack on one run.A big yeehaa! Undecided

I suppose I improved in that I did longer runs, focused on my position on the board and on the way Dave told me to power the wing to get upwind. 

I also managed to drop to my knees and turn around. Usually I'd jump in and turn the board around. 

Not enough to foil and I need to get better wing control to power up without going too far off the wind.

I need another wingfoil beginner to share the agony.

Andrew from Valentine is learning to windfoil and going well. He had a few impressive stacks ( although he said they didn't hurt) and had to swim for the gear once.

He was getting quite high on the foil.

I think I'll focus on more wind and flatter water at Belmont until I get the basics. 

Hopefully I'll start to enjoy it soon.Undecided
