Melville Beach, WA, AU. Wind reading around 18-20kt on arrival so rigged 7m.  Launched and wind booted and was way overpowered.   No time to change down so just hung on.  Was nice in the flats to myself.  Wind settled down after a bit but had to leave due to another pesky xmas get together...Gonna be some big numbers from Jay and Slowy.  iSonic97, SvOD7 proto, FF22(18)

Patrik Slalom 115, Weedspeed 33, Race + 7.7 at Melville. I’m pretty sure that’s the fast I’ve ever gone with a 7.7m2 sail, (who needs Coodanup? 😆)

Melville

110 Radix, 7.7m apache, weedmax 26. Same gear as yesterday!. This combo will be a weapon with a bit more wind.

Got there a bit late (stuck at work), and rigged like mad knowing it was on the edge of shut-down-oclock.

Missed seeing Jay's great runs as I had my back turned while I was rigging... I didn't want to see what I was missing hahaha.

Still plenty when I got out, and had a ball. Way less gusty than yesterday. First run was OK then the wind died for 15 minutes or so. Lucky it came back for another 10-15 minutes with the occasional gust- not enough for great speeds but good fun. Then it faded away. Typical Melville day.

Trick with Melville is to get there early. Almost always the fastest speeds happen around 2:30-3:30pm it seems. I was about 30 minutes too late today.

Thats smok'n Jay, can't be sure but think you missed peak wind too..for sure was better than Coods today...Slowy launched at exactly the wrong time...probably skunked unless he was patient...
