Great blast with the biggest gathering of windsurfers I have seen for quite a while. Someone said there were 50 windsurfing related cars in the car Park!
Lots of fun and banter. Great to see everyone, and see that fins still excite when the wind is up and the water is relitively flat!!
The wind was 20-25 knots ENE, with the occaisional gust near 30, and a few lulls where I was off the plane. The good southern speed mud bank was just a bit too broad most of the time, and only just not uncovered by the tide, so we were mostly sailing the Northern, creasent shaped bank nearest the boat ramp on starboard tack. Got a couple of nice runs on the Mud Bank (Port tack) though when the wind shifted slightly more east and I got a big gust!! The turn in was a bit hairy on the last one, trying to bear away at speed in 1 foot chop!
Many thanks to Kempster for allowing me to rig on his amazing green carpet! A great innovarion in the acres of new ashphalt.
