Vachy (8260km):
8 days ago Lake George, SA, AU | Brains a bit all over the show will try do a write up tomorrow, but a big thanks to dizzy for the support today | Credit to everyone thats gone for big distances, im on the younger side and that was still a tough challenge. My day started off late setting my alarm for PM not AM, Headed out on 6.2 & 89 at 7.00 for 4 hours focusing on conserving energy. Wind started to kick in so came in for food and a change down to 5.6 & 79 (180km), was getting bored so thought some alphas and bear aways would keep my mind occupied for awhile... probably not the smartest idea as it buggered me. After that i persisted getting k's in the middle of the lake pounding threw the chop until i couldnt hold onto the 5.6 any longer. Came in around (~280km) Was a bit defeated, wondering how i was going to last. Thought it might be a good idea to use AlvaDaves old Waveboard and 4.7 wave sail he was kind enough to lend me for my WA trip. Out i went on that... Thinking to myself while sailing man this isnt going to work im going way to slow, but reluctant to change i adjusted a few things and got it going good. Dizzy had joined by then so i went down with him and thought to try get some speed & Alphas on the wave gear. Great distraction... 33kt 2sec, 23kt Alpha on a wave fin. I came in for my last break (370km) it was getting late, Dizzy gave me some words of motivation and i was back out. On a mission and thinking of Dave while using his gear i went as hard as i could for two hours getting a 22.5kt hour on the wave kit and another 80KM before comming in on Dark. Those last few hours were something special and it was great to ride back in to Dizzy & Georgia wating for me on the bank.
