Superb day on the foil. Hundreds of people out sailing.

Bummer....so close to sitting on 20 knots for a nautical mile. No wonder my concentration was frazzled after only 30km.

Yes...yes...very pleasant foil with the guys at the club.7-15 knots, just perfect for the 6m. Good arvo for practising jibing.

Hearing about the collision yesterday and Waynes crash and hosptial trip brought up all my traauma about breaking my wrist and going to hospital. That plus the horrible experinec of me trying to launch in the mud yesterday had me thinkinng of not sailing for the rest of the trip.

 I haven't small gear speed sailed since I broke my wrist in 2022 so I was a bit cautious today.

The launch wasn't as bad today. The strong winds have blown more water over to the Spit so you could get going earlier. 

Today was 2 sec day.  I  didn't even try to gybe. I need to weigh more .I  usually lose 5kgs when I'm down here and probably only 63kgs at best  need more weight to flatten the chop. I  noticed I was getting better speeds when I was 70kgs.

I was a bit underdone for bearaways at 1st but got the 2 sec when the wind was lighter and flats flatter.Pity they didn't stay 10cms chop . By the time I was mega powered there were 15cms  + rollers . I was doing kamikazi bearaways  feeling like 36kts and I'd look at my watch 31.7kts.. It was like groundhog day..

I eventually decided the risk wasn't worth the results and did a mega bearaway in.

What a hoot ! Still buzzing 5hrs later. Flat chat over the rollers sail light feeling like 35kts..only 30.8kts but it was a 8 yodell , scream run..

 So crap stats but I overcame my fears and had a great last run so I'm happy.

Thought i might have shook the PB tree there today, it all felt very fast.
Good fun and always a pleasure to see the Budgy Smuggler men. I've got bad man flu. Retreating to home for now.

Good turnout and plenty of good rides across the bay.

First go with Sail and Foil combo was very pleasing. 

Storm circling around shut down the breeze.

Thats a surprise  a New 2sec speed Pb on this foil and wasn't even trying that hard good cruisey arvo till wind died out

JP HydroFoil 155 Flow 900 Gaastra 6.0. Had to use the 900 as the 1500 has started to open up along the leading edge.

GT-31 may be needing a new battery as it ran out about 1 km from the end. At least it got my best 2 sec.

12 to 18 kns of ENE. A little patchy but the 6 was good in the gusts.
