Lake George, SA, AU. patrik f-race 120, loft rb 5.6, 23 pepe. Happy to have survived some decent wind and fanging around with Sue and Merena. Bit hairy over some chop but nice to practice gybes in the flat. Lots of time to think about technique in the flat water. Plenty of smiling sailors in the sun today. Day 5 - Sail 5. Staying clean, no face plants into mud so that’s good.

Sail 13 The Spit  14 - 20kts SSE

5.5m Mach 2 - RS1 ( 80ltres) - 25cms Tribal weedspeed.

I was a bit homesick and run-down this morning and didn't feel like sailing at all.

It was exhausting getting out with the small gear and big fin.Undecided

I put the 25cm on for security in the chop when it kicked in.  I was hoping for some flatter water before it got too strong.

The flatwater ended up staying all day.

I ended up walking on my knees for 50m to get out.

I was underpowered with that combo and it was really hard to start.

Figured I should be on the 90 but no way was I going to crawl in and get it.

1st hr I was really underpowered. Trouble waterstarting and the board was a sinker after gybes.. Undecided

It eventually kicked in and I had a ball.

I didn't go for anything. I just wanted to have fun and get used to the 80ltre. Tongue out

Tick.

I got the 2 sec following Merena. I should follow people more often. Laughing

I  love that board. I had a ball gybing it after a bearaway. Big wide sweepers..Tongue out

Only problem was sometimes I was so maxed out on the exit I was having trouble getting my rear footstrap. I'd round up a little to get control, get in and then take off again.

Total ball.

Zzzz,

Some fast looking sailors out there. I think there will be a few pbs tonight.
