Lake George, SA, AU. Must be free food and beer at pub again. Just me while Sue decided what to rig. Mind blown, again, by glass. Joined by Sue later, a terrific time trucking around powered nicely, moslty, after the first half hour which was a bit light, Patrik frace 120, Ezzy Lion 6.5, 23 pepe.
Nice to have a go on the Ezzy. Everyday I’ve had the loft 5.6 out.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU

S-SW 5 -16 knots. FFF200, Neil Pryde 6.4m Mk6, Axis 1099.

Hard slog early on with the variable gusts. Eventually the wind filled in and had some good downwind runs.

Sail 15 The Spit Lake George, SA, AU

 12 - 17 /19kts S

Sailed 4.15 - 7 pm

6.2m M2OD- RS2 ( 90ltre) -22cms Atomic

Got there at 1.30 to 6 - 9kts. Read a book as it slowly came in. Dave went out mid PM and dogged around with the occasional spurt.

I figured big board for the lulls and carried it to the waters edge.

He then started  going well .Mmm maybe 90ltres.  I rigged it and took it to the water which had come in 3m by the time I'd stuck a fin in the 90 and carried it down. The big board was now an island and wet grr.

Planned to rig the same as Dave 6.5m but got a 19kt gust on the meter so rigged smaller.

Getting out was tiring but not too bad.

I was planning on practising alphas. It wasn't the day for it as it was too patchy.

I'm happy with the alpha as my 2 sec by then was 25.5kts and it was out in the chop.

I should be able to improve on that a lot with good consistent wind but I think that won't be happening down here before I go.

I  was getting frustrated at the patchy wind but just told myself to just enjoy the gybes.

Not powered enough for bearaways until one at the end.

You had to watch how far you went into the flats. I'd gybe and end up stationary upright in the mud Laughing. It was ok once you powered on again but the wind was lighter in there.

I got some alpha tips. Basically I've gone back to how I used to do them. Lately I've been entering too far off the wind so I can't make the radius on exit.

Tiring but fun.

Packed up as the sun set and got home in the dark. Undecided Cripes I'm tired today and haven't even washed the gear yet zzz

How was the walk today

The water blew back over so the mud walk felt like half of yesterday.
It started out light and was suuuuuuper smooth before strengthening to SE.

Thanks Anita. I wish I could have another go at it but it doesn't look that good for the next 2 days before I leave.
