Majestic Point, WA, AU

Well that was disappointing.

I've been watching the forecast all week, and expected today to be epic, but the wind was rubbish, GAF and full of holes.

Hydro 85 + 6.0 + 460.

Looks like I mistimed it to perfection, it was nuking while I rigged, but dropped to 15K after I launched around 10:40.

Welcome to Autumn!

Bit of fun with Richo and Kevin. Lots of standing around waiting but worth it when the gusts hit. Powerd by the 7.0 SCR,53 Rapid,18 sym,25 ws

Birchmont, WA, AU. Possibly the worst timed session ever.   Arrived with Boz flying around.  I had a cunning plan to avoid the 2km slog upwind to the flats by lugging gear by buggy about 800m.   Took off as did Boz sailing to the same spot.  Loaded up 3 sails plus the drone so was on the heavy side but was supposed to ballistic.    The track started out ok but turned into very soft sand which made the going tougher than expected. Interestingly Boz arrived at the same spot I had lugged to at the same time.   Got the drone ready but couldn't get it up in time to witness Boz do a smashing run all the way back to the car park.   Then the wind died.  No one else went out.   Went out anyway on biggest gear I bought but only managed to get planning a couple of times.  Large Sea Eagle just hung out watching me.  Spent an hr here going nowhere and no one else out so figured it might be a skunking.   Then spotted Snickers launch at the point and he did a full long run to the other side and back, then followed by Boz. Still no wind where I was so spat the dummy and decided to trudge back through the sand and join them.   Got back to Herron point as Rob arrived as did the wind.   Was puking to see that both Boz and Snickers where now playing in the flats I'd just left and looked like doing smoking runs there.   Went out again and this time slogged upwind for the same flats as before by doing long 3.5km run across to Herron lookout jetty.  Nice strong wind and got within a km of the nice flats then the wind dropped dead..usual nightmare, deep water, small gear, no wind but somehow managed to stay up.  Decided this fickle wind was no place to be a long way from anywhere so a long 20 mins balance chug back to car park hoping I didn't fall in as no chance would be able to get going again.   Just arrived back when wind booted big time.  This time I stayed on the sand bar close to the car park but now was maximum tide and the gear I was on was spinout city so came in again to change to better chop gear.   Put the drone up to catch some action of the others but of course as soon as I did the wind dropped with Boz and Rob going nowhere and Snickers on a light cruise.  Was cold and lost interest by this time so left them to it.  The others will post significantly better results than me.   iSonic97, 7mSvR8, FF22 (18)

Pt Walter to Peli Pt

Windy on the drive in to Pt Walter, so rigged 6.2m 110 and 34MK3. Hit the water at 9:45 and got a sick gust off the beach. Was really choppy down there so couldnt get more than 35 max. Wind had a bunch of north in it and was super gusty, so decided to head upwind to see if it was any better. Some big bullets but barely planing in between. Got up to Peli Pt and it was much nicer up there. Still really gusty but the water was a lot more manageable. Did a few runs across the river with Nic. Planing most of the time. Hit a few crazy gusts- one of them was smoke on the water- well over 30kts, and got my fastest run heading to peli in the middle of the river- 37kts max sending it unhooked in a crazy gust. Then Greg rigged up. Rain came. Lightning. Floated back to majestic Pt and got a lift back to Pt walter... was too light to sail back. doh!

Coodanup, WA, AU Coods with Ant and Kev. A lot of sitting around waiting for a gust or two. Nice to get a few solid runs in but probably should have gone to Herron with Boz. Best wind out back in da chop which was fun. 88ltr 61 wide 6.9 R/Blade 22 Speed Delta
