 12-20kts SSE then 15-23kts S Valentine, NSW, AU

 6.5m turbo - WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28cms WT weedy

 then few runs 5m gator - 24cms WT weedy

 One of those days where you wonder if you're getting too old and should take up knitting..

Rigged a bit bigger . I'm trying to get back up to fitness and skill level after a few months off. Lot's of waterstart pracise ( I sux)..Starting to just sit and wait for things to float around and line up rather than flipping the rig and having it go to the bottom of the lake.

 It started to kick in so I figured I better go in and rig down.

 I couldn't resist having a go on the way in as there were some flat spots between the rollers . Disappointed in the 2 sec..must have been too rough..I was flying ( I was told the guys on the shore said " @##! she's going!!!)..Not much board in the water and weaving around. i thought it was getting dangerous so i unhooked but couldn't hold it and the kit got ripped out of my hands.

 The kit merrily sailed off for 50m amd then disappeared down the swells..I tried to swim but with all the kit on and my aqaupak falling off my arm I gave up..No way I could have caught it anyway.

I had my PLB on but didn't want to use it for that. I thought about swimming in and driving around to Marmong or Speers Point to get the gear. There were a few parawingers nad wingers so I waved my arms around and pointed at the kit disappearing into the distance.

 someone on shore put out the alert and I got towed out by a parawinger while 2 others stopped the kit.

One of them pointed at the rig ( the mast was pointing at the bottom of the lake) I said "yes it does that.. it's a pain.."

 Took me a while to waterstart as the waves were bigger and everytime I cleared the clew a wave would catch it and push it back in .grr . Luckily I wasn't far from shore and got in.

 Had a rest then rigged down. I didn't want to finish on a bad note..underpowered now.. I've lost the nack of getting going early..

I wasn't game to have a go at gybing when it was blowing as I was scared of losing the kit again although  I think the gator would have been ok..

 Bummer.. It felt like warpspeeed.. I was hoping for 27kts..

 I think I'll have to pull my head in and not try for speed on LM.. But I like the adrenaline buzz.. 

 Pulled a muscle in my leg trying to waterstart in the patchy wind in close too

The last few sails at Valentine I've seen a 2m plus Hammerhead shark cruising around and the guys have seen several other smaller sharks..I  tried not to think of them today.

I've bought a Sharkbandz but haven't got it yet. .

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU. CA92, OD 5.0, FF18. After my wing career went pop it's time to sail again. Great to visit the land of Gabe again. Gabe Aza and Andre were out there when i arrived. Dramas with power xt rigging ment i had to take 5.0 instead of 5.6. Underpowered a bit, then the wind came up and all had gone in so did I. 
Around to the sailing club to see old mate Don going well on my old kit.
