Richo faces the sack after pitch shocker.

The apprentice groundsman at Fangyland, Richo, faces scrutiny from authorities after a preparing a poor quality pitch for today’s play. After a very short innings, a battered but dead-set local legend, Fangy said;

" The pitch just wasn’t up to scratch today. There was a lot of variable bounce, particularly at the Eastern end of the pitch. I also noticed a big change in pace. There was some sphincter clenching in my play because of the increasing sideways movement off the pitch. I went out with a solid Bazball mindset and took a couple of swipes, but tbh, I was too lazy to  adapt to the conditions. I was sort of relieved to sent on my way back to the pavilion early. Hopefully Richo can sort it out for Friday's match."

   That was a good day to be out on the waters,,,   the wind was blowing nicely, the water was rough and I thought the wind shifted a few times.

I got some gusts and missed some good ones too. Then I had to leave early,,, so dont know if I missed out on the "good wind" ???  Cool

Well it was fun in the wind.          had the old wintach kinetic 52wide, ka kon 5.8 and 21cm weedy  .

Wow that was unexpected, actually followed the forecast!!!!

about 2pm rigged the 60cm. 6.2 Koncept with 23cm@40/60 weedy.

Of course half hour later the wind picked up and the 55cm board and 5.7 speed.

Couldn't be bothered changing, so just gave the koncept a bit more downhaul.

Tide was a bit higher than the last few days, and much less surface weed, (which made the 23cm fin possible)

Combo worked well, chop was more than my preference, but it was easily doable.

Not so many out today.

Ant, Pas, Gloria, Maree, Waricle, Fangy and Brett?? sory mate my name retention is very secondary.

Oh yea, here's the coloured pencils. Nice to have speed runs in both directions.

Coodanup, WA, AU CA63 LRB 5.6 Fangy 19 Sunny, Mid - high tide becoming lumpy as the breeze went from fresh to strong. Sailed with Pas, Mike, Gloria, Maree, Ross, Ant and Brett. Too lumpy for any speed.

Ok I’m feeling da HEAT from the Chairman of the FFYC (Fangylands Front Yard Coods) after today’s harsh but fair review of the pitch at Coods. I did fear that the higher than usual tide would cause some havoc with the locals that are used to windsurfing a prestine flat green pitch that I usually prepare. It’s unfortunate that several inform sailors had to retire after catapulting, railing,leg spinning and being caught in da shallows. Some will say they were unlucky and the reviews got it wrong but maybe they just out of form 😂 With day 3s pitch on Friday looking similar I’m suggesting that some call a lay day as the water levels will again put them out of their depth and possible harm so maybe declare early in the innings and I’ll see that the pitch is more windsurfer friendly on day 5 (Sunday) as that’s the day I’ll be on day water and prepare a pitch to my liking 😂😂🫡

Richo not much chance this match (or Chairman's carcass)  is going to make to Day 5. The roller is coming out tomorrow to get things flattened out for Day 3. I think Boz is quite handy rolling all sorts of things, so I will get him on the job.Tongue outLaughing

"Too lumpy for speed" - you are killing me, Peter! Same wind here and even PWA slalom sailors would be hard pressed to beat your speed. Even in Corpus Christi, where we go for the "flat" water, I call a 33 knot day a great day. But then, I'm in the "old and a bit slower" category, not an Ant man approaching 40 knots in chop Smile. Can't wait to join you all again .. next summer.
