Safety Bay

Yeeehar twice in a week! Wind was OK to start but faded a bit soon after I hit the water, so speeds weren't so flash. Same setup as Tues.

6.2m, Radix 98, WSP27

Towards the end I sailed over to the pond to check out how the beaver has evolved. WOW its not what it used to be hahaha. Its all sandy and shallow where the weed bank was, but there was a small strip of weed bank on the SE side still there, with reasonably flat water (breaking wind chop) right where everyone seemed to be turning around. More wind would have been interesting.

had a go at an alpha or two in front of penguin island beach. second fastest 2 second there with last second gybe to avoid the jetty. Yeah I'm glad I didn't take out that solid looking industrial relic that I noticed afterwards near the beach sitting about 10cm under the surface (!!!!) - is it an old winch wheel? Theres a shaft there ~10cm diameter and what looks the remains of a ~1m diameter pulley just under the water.

Last run back in fading wind was a go at NM but too underpowered and too short- needed to start full power at the beach and stay all the way to the back of the pond... Stayed upwind of all the boats and slowed down about 100m short.

Yes Chris, saw you doing a speedy gybe towards the jetty and had a crack at it myself but learnt from other attempts south of this that it's pretty shollow when the tide's out, so didn't go as deep. Anyway, got my Alpha there.
