Was keen to get to Stansbury for a sail 'cause the forecast was looking good. I got a message from Jay as i was knocking off from my work shift, saying he was nearly at Stansbury. So i hurried down and had a chat and then rigged up. It was blowing about 20-25 and the tide was out a bit. Headed out and sailed the line inside the spit and settled in for a powered up hour. The wind seemed to back off a bit but kept sailing for a distance score. A lot of floating weed on the run line but blasted through it with the Fangy, it did slow the hour down a bit. Jay was sailing well but having trouble with weed catching in the fin. Suprised with the 35 though it did not feel that fast.
I think the Trickster has nearly healed up, which is good. He has missed some really great summer sailing conditions here at the local spot. With the weed growing Stansbury has the feel of a mini Lake George only with a short runway
Great to catch up with Jay

47 days ago Stans. Today looked like it was going to nuke. First few runs I was fully lite. I thought, wow, Hoppy (being nearly 1m squared bigger) is going to get slammed soon. But, turns out, Hoppy's choice was perfect. After the 1st 15min or so, wind gradually died. In the end it got to about 17kt. So, I called it after 100. As soon as Edithburgh obs changed wind direction to more cross (with respect to the Yorke Pen coast) and kicks in a bit more, it dies off at Stans. I really can't work it out. Patrik 92 Slalom ][ (so glad I used this !), Racing Blade 5.2, MUF 20 Delta. I was smashing the MUF through weed bergs so much, that the gasket failed, and was catching weed. Had to go in and change to a Tribal 20 Delta. I hit a shag when I was gybing.
Well done H for the PB and the numbas, and the chats. No beer or chippies today. Everybody get up early tomorrow and go to work. Now get back to work !! :)
