Tabou Manta 71, NP RSR Evo X 7.8m, Elmo SS 42cm exp Mk ?

Two days in a row without a headache, I'll take that.

Awesome morning out with my Chickybabe today with our first time out indoor climbing and finding out that I'm a total gumby with huge amounts of room for improvement. Was still fun.

Got to Novara to find Simon and Bob in the shade having a good old matter as there was bugger all wind, they looked like they had the right idea so I joined them, Bob was so confident today he left his board at home.

Eventualy there was enough wind to rig up and I wanted to test a new fin which hopefully wouldn't shear of at the base after 400m.

It was going great guns until I went over some chop and spotted this in the water

After which I promptly bullseyed it.

This lead to a hooked in catapult the likes I haven't had for a while, which left a huge Elmo sized dent in the water.

Upon resurfacing I found that I had

Smashed the nose of my board.

My eyesight was squiffy, fortunately this was caused by the smashed glasses and the reading lenses not being in the part of the view they were supposed to be in.

Tore the hook strap of my PFD.

Got a lump on my knee.

The fin survived the impact and sailed me backCool be nice to give it a bit more of an extensive test.

So the board has been given some love tonight and will now sport some scar tissue.

I sew on the strap tomorrow.

I'll hopefully pick up some more glasses tomorow (polorized fishing glasses with reading lenses).

The lump and the knee, sore ribs and rattled head is just general wear an tear in the life of the red and furry.

Laughing Good write up Elmo. You'll have to take over from Fangy.

I'm surprised that the shoe would be enough to cause a stack! Sounds like a nasty one..Lucky you can do your own board repairs.

Sue took my words Elmo, but for sure the basic rule is if you look at something you will hit it.  For glasses, I've given up buying fancy stuff, there is this thing called Aliexpress..Slowy claims he get them at $1 ea, but for sure around $3ea for x5 delivered is realistic for awesome looking and working glasses..each last a few months min

The shoe sole, I lterally spoted it just before it went under the board as it was something black in the water, I'm nomally looking a lot further ahead for my approaching imminant destruction.

Well, the panel beating on the board is done and I've repaired the PFD.

The glasses are polarised fishing glasses (I would prefer safety glasses) but with reading lenses (like bifocals).

The Garmin 255 I got off aliexpress seems fine. But they totally ripped me on some sunnies that ain’t polarised and no return option seems worth pursuing. Poor man pays twice. These frameless sunnies I got off them have a set of frames that click inside the glasses for focal lenses. Anyway I’ll just keep squinting for now.
