Elmo (33234km): ![]() Tabou Manta 71, NP RSR Evo XV 7.4m, Elmo SS 42cm Green. Morning sail at Novara again on a SE breeze, was sacrificed by Paul and Annie to see if the wind was good enough, It wasn't realy as the first part of the session there was chugging occasional plaining, bearing off on waves to keep planing, falling in on gybes (SNAFU there). Eventually P&A lacking long vision must have thought I was doing ok so they ventured out, unbeknownst to them I was looking to come in and change up my board to the big girl. Fortunately for me though the breeze liked them and filled in more. Got some nice squirts across the bay, bit more east in it and was able to get some more upwind. Though I would never have said I was anywhere near overpowered at any time. Got one nice send on way back across for peak speed, which pushed us downwind a ways. Next run I got a bit greedy with the run and went to far and gybed into a shallow weed patch. Annie being the caring person she is laughed, waved and promptly used me as a gybe marker. A couple more runs and the wind was fading so decided that was a fun day. Paul was having lots of fun on his foil hopping on and off of waves, don't think I saw him sail more than 200m in a straight line all morning. Back on shore the Doddi fella was sunning himself and planning a cyclone assault for later in the week, Terry also showed but could not be convinced to go out. Then the trendsetters eventually turned up for their FIRST thing in the morning session @1158hrs, supposed it's all the rigerous manscaping regimen they have to undertake for the sport does take time and effort. They mock us for how long we take to rig, but the reality is we load up car, rig up, slap on the happy clothes and go out whereas it's more involved for them with preperation, photo shoot, posting images to Onlyfiends and Gringer. That said they did seem to be enjoying themselves a lot out there. A great way to start the day, a trip to see Simon the sadist on the way home and all was good in my world, apart from when blowing out my gutters I noticed one of my SWS panels had a leak. Still a great day. | ||||||||||||||||||
