Procrastination is strong in this muppet!

Pottered around till the squalliness had gone and got down to Novara for an early 11am start to find Hardz there about to go out and Paul rigging up.

Sacrificed the Hardy fella who optimistically went with a smaller foil, that didn't last long, he came back in changed foil and checked his manscaping before he went back out, this time much better.

Sacrificed Paul next, who actually looked ok out there but was working pretty hard to get going at times.

Eventually, after much naval gazing (watching the two sacrifices go) I decided I'd better contemplate rigging.

Decided on a larger sail which I haven't used in years (only used once from memory) this is were the fun started.

Mast up the sail, OK. Downhaul sail, OK. Attach dirty great big boom, OK. Adjust extension said DGBB, bugger broken clip. Remove DGBB, Replace with fully extended spare boom, OK. Set out haul, OK. Release downhaul, OK. Set cams 1,2&3 OK. Cam 4 Yell YellYellYellYellYellYell.

Turns out using a 520 mast instead of a 490 is not ideal.

Got into my steamer for the first time this year, to my amazement, it fittedSurprisedLaughing The loss of 9kg for some bizzare reason does not stress the rubber so much.

Getting the gear into the water got me pinned by the sail when a rogue gust thought it would have some fun with me. Walking out was glad of the steamer.

The big rag, got me going reasonaby well, a few sketchy momments when it was too big and some chugging when it wasn't enough.

Second run I noticed that the boom was moving and that the head cup was shedding it liner (the joys of another 20yo boom) so that was it for me.

Was nice to get out.

Good times.

Got to figure out how to make a split mold to recast the boom cup liners now.
