NP RSR Evo-XV 7.4m, JP SLW & NP Flight FR 80, Tabou Manta 71 & Elmo SS BL 42cm.

Some people pay a small fortune for the spanking I got todayEmbarassed.

Took over an hour to get on the water today down at NOVARA with the chatting before hand, WHEN I eventually got out on the water it looked like the wind had done a runner and I was just going to be floating around.

Well the wind was there it was just not touching the water, first run on the foil, Going ok(ish) then breach and Elmo sized dent (#1) in the water.

Return run, made it back ok(ish)

Second run out, ok(ish) till another Elmo sized dent (#2), realy burried the mast on this one, much faffing around needed to get it out.

Return run, made it back ok(ish)

Third run out, ok(ish) till another Elmo sized dent (#3)

Return run, made it back ok

A few adjustments, winds picking up, went out again, wait for it, yep, another Elmo sized dent (#4).

Return run ok but overpowered.

Decided the Manta would give me less distance to fall already being on the water.

Good to catch up with Ratz who had just turned up and rigged up

By the time I hit the water breeze ws starting to back of again but got a nice run out without any dents. Unfortunately wind had dropped out so mostly a chug back to base to swith gear again.

Back on the foil again, nice long run this time, ending in..... another Elmo sized dent (#5)

Nice return run dry gybe (Non foiling), winds picking up again run out Elmo sized dent (#6) best one yet I was told, back to base swapped gear again.

On the slalom gear nice run out, gumbied the gybe, return run got the peak of the day, that was it for me, had fun remodeling the water surface.

Things learnt today.

The 7.4 was occasionally the right sized sail, realistically a wave sail probably been better in the stronger winds, on the Manta by the time I got back out on the water with it, it alsmost wasn't enough.

The wind wasn't always touching the water surface, there was quite a few "mystery" gusts out there.

I had only used this foil twice before for about 20mins total as the NP aluminium mast (same with all of them) develops some evil harmonics and is F**KING LOUD when sailing, I only figured out my mod which I had done to it was effective when I came to the conclusion that the high pitched wailing sound was coming from me rather than the foilEmbarassed.  It has been that long since I've used this foil, I found my tools had rusted solid to almost the point of unusability.

Gotta get used to the shorter mast and the way the power comes on with it, other than that it was quite nice.

Great sailing with Ratz who has a sweet gybe going on with his wingydingythingy.

Good times.
