Up and down like the bride`s nighty but still enjoyable with quite a bit of sunshine. Used 6.7 on  the old "cut down" Sonic.                               Canton Beach, NSW,

Teralba, NSW, AU

Naish 95SP and 6.0 Sail. Wind Westerly 0-25kts. Typical westerly up and down every 2 minutes. At least the water was warm.

Cluffy in action

Looked at Peely but went out at Canton. 6.6, ancient seatrend, 28 MUF.  Was patchy but OKish. Nice to get a sail.  Came in really strong West as I was unrigging & was happy to not have got caught out in it with the 6.6.

gusty 5-20+ N/W   to W

Seatrend ATV 6m retro.had a few runs then wind eased.

Changed to Futura 122 7.5 loft blade.wind picked up and ended up being a nice sail for a westerly.

10-30kts WNW Canton Beach, NSW, AU - I hate Westerlies!

115 Xcross - 6.6m severne race + 30cms weedie then 6m Severne Overdrive.c 16 degrees.

Sailed the boat from Rathmines to Toronto before I came down and it was blowing 15-30kts on the lake - reefed No 3 headsail only weather..Got to Canton and looked like 15- 20kts gusts so started to rig smaller gear then it died..Don't trust W's so rigged the 6.6m ( I can hang on up to 20kts for short periods) with big boards for lulls as lots of holes..

ugh..one run and I was stuffed and heart palpitations..Undecided been sitting on my bum sailing the boat too much.Time to get back to bushwalking , cycling etc..Mind you I had been awake since 3am..

Overpowered in the gusts. Bugger of an angle too easy to end up in the bay and then a long work back + not really much flat water.

Came in and decided 6m would be better..of course it died then but it was nice in the gusts till I got right over the other side and it kicked in 25 - 30kts...argh spent 10 mins lengthening the boom so I could flatten the sail more. Took off but too b dangerous so after a short run partly hooked in and some just arms I decided to walk it back..Died a little halfway back and managed to survival sail in and walk up.

Came in then and everyone else starting to go out but I'd had it!

Earlier Tibor , Bruce + Bill out with me.

A couple of kites out and one guy teaching someone which was b silly as it was gusting close to 30kts. He ended up taking it in and even he looked dodgy .I thought he would end up wrapped around a tree.Weird earlier as 2 kites were out in a similar area and in unison their kites crashed to the water - no obvious gusts on the water..Must be a dicey sport!

Didnt bear off much got the top speed on the last run with the 6m before it really kicked in.

Russ was there with the camera but everyone was way over the other side and in close didnt have much wind.

Nice to get out again after a long time off the water. Typical gusty westerly but occassionally nicely powered on a 6.2 Atlas and 100l Freestyle board.

Good to see so many out.

Good work on the PB Ian.

Exocet RS4 111, TR8 6.6, JP 40cm - wind NW 5-20 knots

Great turn up at Teralba based on the nice forecast.  Everyone was keen after a few weeks off the water.  Started off pretty light and patchy but improved as the afternoon went on.  Got a lucky gust just after a long glass off so the water was pretty flat.  Fun day and hope for some more tomorrow.

Exocet 67 Gaastra 6.0

A westerly, just about says it all. Up then down. Got cold waiting and eventually went home. Still cant complain. 0.01 knot improvement, the first in a long time.

Flatter water and smaller fins obviously works.

Great to get a sail in after 3 abysmal months of no wind. The wind was very fresh but viciously gusty. No one cared I think everyone was just stoked to get a sail in. I got to terabla at 9.30 an it was gusting 30 to 35 knots but it settled down to 20 to 25 for most of the day. I started out on the tabou 3S and the cross 5.6. It was okay but really lighting my fire so I pulled out the ray 102 and a 6.5 NCX. That was a good choice and I had some nice freerace  blasting for a good part of the day.The eased off later to 15 to 20 so I jump on the JP 68 wide and an NCX 8.0 . More great blasting late in the day with people sticking around and sailing until dusk.

I was very rusty at first which is obvious from andrew's photo. I felt a bit unco for a while but got my rythm back eventually. I saw Glenn bust out one of the best power gybes I've seen in a while.  He was using a 7.0 in a fair bit of breeze and sheeted in hard an dropped the sail into a semi laydown and went into the turn with a ton of speed and power. He must have been 20 knots plus through that turn. Then he proceeded to drill the transition and come out of the gybe with heaps of speed. If Glenn doesn't post an alpha PB I'll be amazed. Great stuff mate a pleasure to watch. Here's a couple of shots of me having a senior moment.

It's 9.30 sunday morning here and I can see out my window cockle bay is brewing up nicely from the west. L8tr guys I'm going for as sailCool

Smoking is a good description..I always say one day I want to be able to gybe like Hugh but I think I'm setting the bar too high..Wink. Some pics Russ took on the day. We were right over the other side as it was too gusty closer so the distant ones aren't real sharp ( needed a tripod).

 Bill

Me on my first run off the beach. I caught a gust and knew I'd be on camera so I turned and smiled for the camera ( 2nd shot)

 Tibor ?

L to right - Tibor , Bruce and me

Me - it was a pain of angle to get back from. Too much N.
