Lake George SA AU

Carbontart 110L, KA 4.7m, 22 Delta

Was hesitant to go out (wind looked a bit strong), but so glad that I did - had a blast. Picked up a bit when I was out there, but I was getting used to it (like a frog in boiling water??).  2s pb on second last run, as the wind was picking up.  Also, worked out how to get foot in back strap without getting catapulted over the front - after the first two runs with my foot sitting on the strap, I realised this was really something I needed to sort out today.

10-22kts S for a while 15-22kts Valentine, NSW, AU

5.7m gator- WT55 ( 90ltre) - 24cm WT stealth weedy my 18-23kts combo

Well I couldn't have timed it better for the midday session. Cool

The forecast was for a decent Ssw turning SSE at 11am so i got there to get a sail before it swung.. yeah right..A very patchy 0 - 12kts SW all am. I was watching Norah and hoping it we'd get similar and sure enough it kicked in to 15-20kts plus..

Quickly rigged. I'm a bit tired of hanging on for grim death and I was tired from yesterday so hoped for a nice comfy session. I knew the med board could be a bit small if it died but risked it.

I got 50 mins  of lovely sailing. I was too tired to sail much more anyway. A bit disapointed in the gybes.. Same old same old , bend the front arm on entry and stand up Yell still I gave up on perfection and all bar one were dry. The rig flips are good, I just have to get the entry down..

Very comfy , off the plane a bit but fun in the gusts. Pity you have to be more powered for good speeds.. there were some nice flat bits out there but I wasn't powered enough for good speed.

The rain came in and it dropped to 10-12kts and swung a bit more SSE . I. was over the other side so headed in and made it to within 100m before the wind died completely and I had to swim in.

 Just me.

You can see by the graph you had to be lucky today to get the wind and have the right kit!

Epic day easy to go fast had heaps more speed to give just a touch more wind anything was possible.

Thanks Sue!  i don't suppose it will last long - but it's captured for eternity now.

For future reference that is the alpha you get from getting off the board, turning it around and uphauling to start again.
