fangy (22667km): Exceptionally rubbish sail for me today. I meet the CoastalNannas down at S bend before settling on Wamba's as the place to rig.( Wamba's being halfway along Fangy's )
I was on a pretty tight schedule and so quickly rigged up the Koncept 7.5 on the QEII . The tide was high but I was worried about the bergs I had seen last week, so I used the 24 honeycomb Delta. As it turned out I think a normal weedy might have been ok, such was the tide height in the morning.
I dropped my kit in the brew and had a couple of runs and with some minor tuning I was set for a session. Except in the very next gust that horrible cracking noise that comes with plastic snapping followed by floppy boom pointed to all was not good in Fangyland.
My completely crap Fibresnap boom clip had broken again. My repair was the only part that was fine, the rest of the clip had decided to fragment into bits.
End of session. Not happy Jan.
On top of that Great Nanna Stropoo had scored the money shot of all time with his chair work. If you haven't seen it already check his post. A rainbow coming from the seat...there is so much ammo there.. but I have to concede it's the best chair shot ever!
So hopefully Captain Calm and Bluey had a better time of it and can post some decent numbers for the team..
I got a quick pic of the Nannas in their natural habitat - look closely you can pick the chairs

Decrepit (54506km): A few interesting things happened today, Due to Fangy's unfortunate boom event, he was out of the water when I was rigging. (5.8 on the 53 with 26cm 45d weedy), and as soon as I hit the water the wind picked up!!! (just ask Strop) Fangy is the switch!!! If he's in the water I'm capatain calm, if he's out of the water I'm capatin ballistic. I had astuffed gybe out the back in the deep, and submerged a couple of times trying to fly the sail, when I got to shore speed genie was just flashing 0. somthing for max and 10s. Had me worried, didn't think that was possible, speed genie is set to 27kts, so there's noway it should show 0s. It also wasn't scrolling thru history max, just max and 10s. Watched it as I took off again, (big lull so grovelling) it seemed to be measuring speed OK. Had a run or 2, and when I looked again it was displaying 43kts! That had me even more worried, thought it may have been time for a replacement GPS. But gpsar has crunched the numbers OK, the 43knots show up where I stuffed the gybe, so I was probably under water at the time, getting very strange distorted satelite signals.
Apart from that it was good fun with some of the CST crew, sharing the water with us. Tide was a bit high early so water was just a bit more choppy than I'm happy with in the gusts. Tide went out through the day, but wind also got a bit lighter
Oh yeah, we sailed from Wamba St, it's a great spot, plenty of big trees to give shade and act as wind break, easy launching, no worries coming back to change stuff. And it's about where the flatest water is, I hope it's still OK in Summers lower tides.

(Mu-) fin (15418km):
Yeeeehaa... cracked the 30 knot mark !! .. and, to my surprise, as a bonus the 20kn alpha !! Woooohooo!!! yeah.... This would not have been possible without the kind help and contribution of some fine friends. Namely our great teem leader, Cap'n Decrepit, who donated time and a couple of sails, also Glen & Chris for a board, and also all who gave advise and encouragement, thanks all.
