Gusty westerly but lots of fun and nice to get out for a sneaky 45 minutes on Mothers day.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU RS2, Maui TR11 6.6, 23cm 45deg vector weed speed.

Under fined and under sailed just not enough wind should have gone to marmong and to top it off put a hole in my brand new sail and have no idear how. must have been a branch on the grass.

Good turn out of friendly people but a sad day sail unfortunatly.

Another brutal westerly. 7.5 NCX on the 113 hawk then a 6.5 NCX on the same board. The 6.5 felt great on the hawk despite the 113 x 66.  I was gobsmacked at how good it felt actually. It was quite windy at times and the 6.5 was a bit big in the bigger gusts but on the hawk freeride it was all good fun. Funny thing is if I ran with the 6.5 on my 102 slalom I would have been soiling my wetty in the gusts and still would have done 31 knots. Highlight of my day was drilling some wieghtless laydowns in the flat water near the sailing club. That feeling never gets old.

Sunny, not freezing & the westerly/NW turned up as forecast, Lots of sailors today. WENT OUT AS bYRON & OTHERS WERE COMING IN BUT the wind was quite good fot 30-40 mins, planing all the time. The weed is coming back, who would have thought we'd be glad to see huge clumps of weed on the surface. It made for some good flat areas & the lake is so full you copuld sail almost anywhere. Would have been scary going through the weed with ordinary weed fin though it has been OK in the past. I used a delta & no problems, CASL62, 6.6, 19 MUF.

Exocet RS4, TR5 5.5, JP 40 - Wind NW 5-25 kts

Firstly thanks to my lovely wife and mother of my children for watching said children while I went sailing this afternoon.  Didnt realise my twitchiness due to lack of wind was that obvious!

Anyway, looked really windy when i got there so rigged 5.5 and 94L FSW board.  One dogging run out and realised board was too small so swapped for the 111Lx69W slalom board.    The sail and board weren't a perfect match, but the extra float was welcome in the big lulls.   However, the gusts were great and scored a 2sec PB for me in Lake Macquarie (other top speeds were at Budgewoi/Primbee).    Plenty of guys out which was great to see - Mick, Adam, John P, Cluffy, Scott and a few guys I hadn't seen before.   Top day, and the forecast looking great for the next week.

NW 5-30 knots of bullits. For me to pick a rig set up these days I go for safety and enjoyment. I  had tons of safety gear and some joy. Of the 3 boards in my quiver, I went for the now very old Mistral screamer, heavy, steady and bullit proof. Maui 5.2 switch .

Good turn out of sailors. Good exercise and a good day.

5-22kts NW / WNW Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU -6.6m OD-20cm delta -95 rocket then 79ltre Falcon.

Typical W one sec 5kts then 20. could have used 7m first hr ok in gusts but not enough of them. By the time it kicked in I'd been out 2.30hrs and hanging off the boom like a sack of spuds and spinning out every bear away. Still good to get out and there was some flat water although between threat of debri +weed clumps it was a bit scary going in there.. Got 29.3 kts onthe rocket then got same first run onthe falcon out in the chop overpowered just before I spun out  and lost it..Laughing.Heaps of people there but not all went out. It died just as all of the latecomers were about to go out.

Frothless, Byron , Greg' then Bruce, Wayne , Mat , pugs + others. Our internet is down so I'll have to wait till later to load pics.

Frothless picked up a pine log and bought it in. Thanks!

 Frothie doing his thing..

 The carpark was chockas..

Well there was gusts in the choppy area..

Died in the bum...end of the day in the 'flats'..gusty 5-20kts WNW earlier.

Sorry about the sail byron. Mick babbage is working at fossils (fussels) so he might be able to fix it for you. I was taking my repairs to barracouta until they completely ruined my near new phantom 7.8. Roughest job I've ever seen. It's puzzling as the Xply window they put in my manic 5.7 was an awesome job but the next effort was a disaster.

Bugger re the sail Byron. I was wondering why you didn't go back out when you got home. Sounds good Cluffy. Good to see you posting again.Yes I got almost the same speed on the rocket as on the falcon and it was a lot scarier in the gusts!

Hard to pick a combo for tge W in the lake. Easier at Budgy as if you pick a small board you can choose to sit out the lulls in the flats or just beachstart
