Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU                              KA Race 7.1 , AB+ 59 Carbon delta 18

Started out 15 to 20 , but well over 20 while rigging , getting 33s for a few hours in the on off breeze , then all off a sudden it was a white out .

30+ knots , had 2 super powered up runs , more like over powered , then had nothing left . found a nice little weed bank . about 150 m long the only

flat water on the whole lake . Wish i had the energy for another 3 runs .

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Very choppy, and very little flat water

FF79 + 6.6m.

1 1/2 hours of 3-20kts followed by a nice 1 1/2 hours of 15-25, then 30+

Unfortunately I was already way too tired to hang on. Both arms cramping. Greg managed a few runs and got some excellent speeds.

If only we had started 2 hours later.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Arrived as the morning shift came in. THE NICE 2 HR WESTERLY THEY HAd TURNED INTO 30 KNOT sw. wENT WITH 5.5, rs1, 19 muf & gOT BLOWN AWAY, TOO WINDY TO BEAR AWAY & WHEN i TRIED THE DELTA COULDN'T HANDLE THE HUGE CHOP & then realised I had forgotten the GPS! Bugger, those 40 knot runs were missed!

Wenjt in, was all I could do to get back & Mick rigging. Had a nother go as wind dropped & after that it was up & down, a lot smoother but a bigger sail would have been nice.

Oh well, bedtter than working.

Teralba, NSW, AU TR11 maui 6.6, RS2 Exocet, Vmax 31 then 33.

Good training day trying diferent adjustments tuning the sail with a pointer fin.

Was a typical nw wind up and down but when up wow very nice.

very happy to get over 36 knots in chop the gear just hamers and sticks, the 6.6 feels like it can handle so much wind no problems to 35 knots of breeze.

I was wondering how it was down there. I went past Warners Bay at 1.30 and it was unbelievable -must have been 35-40kts+ and consistent.Big rollers ,hard to open the car door and get out.Even up past Teralba launch area no gusty bits ,consistent and 1ft waves..Usually you get some puffs but this was full on. I wouldn't have been game to try it. Took some videos + pic will post once #%$#internet is back on.

Great speed Greg. Good that you got some wind.

Nice speeds fellas. We need a sailing spot in the maitland through to hexam area. I work at beresfield and it was howling all day. It's always 5 to 10 knots more up there in a westerly. It seem to funnel down the hunter.

Greg and Andrew,

Awesome speeds in those wild conditions. Dont know how you hung on. I was struggling with my 5.0. Biggest chop I've seen at Budgie.

The road that runs around Grahamstown dam would be awesome if you could access the area .

Yep launched at Peel St, Not ideal as it was a fair way down to the flatish area.

The lake was really deep so able to get very close to the bank (alarmingly close at times), behind some weed.

Some pics from the esplanade Warners bay yesterday at 1.30-2pm. Last one is from Carey Bay.

The one above is looking down the back of the waves towards Warners..

One above is just to show you how ballistic it looks looking out across from the protected areas.

greeat B & J if you had small enough gear but my 3.2m sail + 68ltre board would have been miles too big for me! Must be getting old and whimpy..Embarassed

I was thinking if you were up to it some nice flat sections for speed and some great ramps for jumping..Oh for the days when I was frothing at the mouth to get out in those conditions..CryUndecided
