Lyds (10267km): Belmont Bay (Slipways), NSW, AU Fligh Evo foil and 7.0, great start to the session, nice down winder to Marmong then it just turned off - I was becalmed for an hour then it turned SE and was overpowered when it came in to 20 plus for the trip up to Belmont.
Tibor (17568km): Gosford, NSW, AU SStarted out as real minimal so l have used my 115+fuselage with 1000 wing Nd +1stabilizer in other words the lightest wind setting possible. Once again as soon as I got out the wind came in flying me to the moon. I came out and changed the stabilizer to -2 and then it was handleable but never comfortable. Still great to be on the water with Mike..Paul and Bruce

Andrew Haigh (49062km): Coal Point, NSW, AU, SE 12-20 Stingray, Whisperer, 5.5m Nice little session with Sue. Strong at times and really gusty. Had some serious offs, mostly caused by fooling around. On one ocaision as I was falling towards the water I passed my board and foil which was heading skywards. I crawled back on to the board only to see my nose protectoer floating away. Wasn't really in the mood for a swim. Happy with the alpha, that is a foiling PB.
Bostonfoil (17127km): Valentine, NSW JP135 GTR+ SS 7.0 Late session in very lumpy conditions. Started off about 6kts ended up 20-25 SE.

sboardcrazy (24442km): 5-12kts few patches 10-15kt some 20kts plus SSE some rain Coal Point, NSW, AU 6.6m KA Koncept - WT64 - 28cm Maui weedy then 33 Makani weedy Looked sunny and good on the webcam but by the time I got down there it was raining and 5kts..being the eternal optimist I checked the internet and it looked like the rain was over and wind on the way. Read a book in the car for a while and then the wind started in. Tempted to rig the 7m but I'd like a bigger fin than the 33cm and I knew if I put in the 36cm drake the board would take flight in the strong stuff. I'll have to figure out a larger option. Put the 28cm Maui in as an experiment to see if it would make the setup any more comfortable. Slogged across and the first gust I slid sideways the whole way.... After that I made sure to bear off using only front foot pressure and generally have front foot bias and it was ok. The setup was great in the gusts but unfortunately that was 15% of the session..To think I'd been looking forward to today thinking that a SSE would be consistent.. yeah right.. Had a great run in a rain 'squall' into Belmont Bay and was surprised to look around and see Andrew on the foil.. Turned around and of course it was 5-12kts so it was a long slog back upwind with Andrew foiling rings around me..grr The gusts were fun. I eventually decided to see how the set forward makani weedy would go..I couldn't notice any difference but it was bigger and I felt more comfortable with it.. It finally kicked in a bit at 3.30 ( by now my eyeballs were hanging out of my head) and I had some fun runs and at times I managed to leave the pesky foiler behind me .. It was getting a bit rough so I dropped in and put more flex in the tailand and that made things more comfortable.. I was too hot in the winter wettie. Just me and Andrew. |
