Sailed Avalon using JP106L+Ezzy 5.2 Zeta+JP26 Weed Wave

Fun session with a constant breeze and had the waves at Avalon to myself as the kiters were shredding it up at Weedies next door.

Picked up a second-hand carbon boom in Perth yesterday and it was punished in a few waves and came up A-OKSmileCheers Dennis for letting me know it was for sale and where.

Top Ten Fangy Day despite:

  1. Giving myself an unintentional prostate exam thanks to some dunny paper that had less strength and integrity than the entire Pesky outfit.
  2. Getting stuck behind some massive mining kit that was being transported to site. This resulted in a record breaking Longest drive to Boombas ever recorded.
  3. Forgetting my harness somehow.
  4. Breaking my spare harness thanks to some extra Covid kegs.
  5. Shearing the glass layer off one of my Swoody’s (entirely down to my mistreatment)
  6. Pesky Dan being on the paddocks at Boombas.

Despite all that, the Scud, Dan and I reaped the rewards of being patient enough to wait out the initial rubbish northerly, and then enjoyed a decent NNW breeze for an hour or two. The tide was too low for Boombas inside, but the outside run back and forth was a damn good stretch of nice water and good fun to boot.

As I said, despite the carnage it was a worth the trip and as a bonus it was great to catch up with Dan after such a long time. Laughing

Big day on the foil with only 2 offs, one at the begining and another about 80km in. Was joined out there by Elmo for a while and Mike and Pacey on their wing dings.

Roger you owned it out there today saw you do so many flying gybesCool.

I procrastinated more than I've ever procrastinated before including deciding to clean up the shore of all the shit the local snot gobblers had taken from green waste piles accross the road made a nice little pile.

Was umming and arring about whether to go to cobblers for a slap eventually set up the foil and a small sail.

Was doing ok but thge small sail wasn't small enough at times and things were a bit hairy in places so just flagged after trying unsucessfully to get rid of the two extra adams apples.

Twas fun, heart just wasn't realy in it today.

Huge numbers Roger.

Good to catch up Fangy. I see you pipped me in a few categories but overall I think we're pretty even (for now). Can't wait to kick yo arse when the 9'4" arrives!  Nice being out on the water anyway - was great having the place all to ourselves.

Yes Roger - defo my fault. I have been playing around with the foil a lot and a combo of overheating and over thinning the glass was the culprit. Easy fix tho 😁👍

Had enough time and wind for another 100 but the body was done.  100k,s takes a long time with a slow foil on. About 3 1/2 hours.

Your camp looks like Heaven on Earth BobCoolSeems a choice spot to drop the tinny in to pick up a Dhuey and a feed of crays?

I'm planning on sailing Exmouth in Sep/Oct. Sandy Bay is an exceptional spot, and that's where I taught my young bloke to windsurf a couple of years ago.

I've enjoyed some great sessions in the waves at Graveyards and Wobiri too. The place has everything. When the wind and swell is not cooperating for sailing or surfing, there's great fishing outside the reef at Tantabiddi including snorkelling with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays.

You can get up close to turtles at Oyster Stacks and The Drift at Turquoise Bay. This one didn't mind me taking photos, and I was lucky enough to follow it around for a few minutes.

Safe travels
