Great Session after so long off the water.  Display speed = 34.05kts.  T1 RS 59  Gaastra Vapor 6m  Decrepit weed 25cm.  Wind about 10 to 22, maybe the odd stronger gust but very short gusts, so just as you got motoring the puff died onya.(Hence the big difference between Display and 2 sce data log??)  Anyway I'm buzzinLaughing  There's been some distance done today by MMers and SRMers.

As hardie says, great to be powered up again!!

1st hour was faily steady, but for the next 3 or 4 hrs just a series of short gusts and long spells of nothing.

Then hardie arrived and it kicked back in again, I was tuned for distance so was a bit overdone to get the best out of the gusts, apart from that by the time the wind got really good I was exhausted.

alpha 500/70 gives me a 23, so I'll have to get used to the waihui not turning as tight as my little board.

It was just great to finally have a sail. Knocked myself off at 2pm. sailed till 5pm as the wind vanished. Angle was all wrong for high speeds so just went for a cruise. very happy at how the SX handles in the chop mmmmmm thinks its a keeper!!!!!!

Tried out the new second hand x-cite ride 110l and found it really comfortable. Powered through the gusts, which were a discussion point. Evets and Decrep tried out for a bit of distance but the wind died in the ass about midday. Still, had a ball, enjoyed the company.Cool

Was one of the few dedicated soles who actually went to work today whilst everybody was skiving of down the beach, anybody would think we haven't had any wind for 2 weeks.

Almost went wavesailing as Avy was looking pretty sweet but figured i should do my bit and hopefully contribute to the team effort.

Totally out of condition and unco today, just couldnt get my shidt together, had a constant stream of snot coming out of my nose the whole session which i'm sure was throwing me of balance.

Tried 3 boards, top speed was done on the Supersport but I was hurting to much sailing back so had a go on the freestyle, oh I'm going to have some fun in the surf on this puppy, and finished up on the SX which for some reason didn't want to let go of my back foot which made for some truely ELMO gybes.

All in all a good session great to sail with the crew again, of now to have a nice hot shower to try and soothe the aches and pains.

My turn to post!

F2 277 ride, 6.5 tush raptor and decrep tuned Maisch weedy. Launched from Howards Way. Swapped to Mistral Screamer concept briefly but then wind dropped again and neded a bit more volume for grovelling.

Started before 8 am but it was pretty hopeless, north west. Decrepit arrived and launched and the wind picked up then it dropped and then it picked up........... and it was like this all day until about 2.20 ish when Captain Hardie rigged and then it blew and blew.  Oh and during the day we had torrential rain.

Went for distance and had a ball (ok so several times through the day the four of us out all day had to grovel but it was better than work).

My gybing was generally crap, often hugely overpowered etc. Excuses, 'cos but I need to improve gybing in all conditions.

Updated distance and alpha after consulting the guru and Realspeed. Gined 5 ks on distance and I never did believe the alpha so little lost there!

Really pleased with the distance result considering the conditions. Cool

Congrats on the PB Pepe, I've been watching the graphs all morning wondering if I should have skipped work... graphs looked hell gusty, 10 knots one minute, 25 the next.  Hope the boys stayed out, it's looking like it might come in spinner for the afternoon...

Thanks Elmo. I would have been funy watching Decrep and me. for the first 4 hours we were blasting then struggling back to shore, grabbing a drink and then it blew like anything and off we went again. fortunately we did not get stranded in the middle!

Well done to all that got out today. Sounds like mandurah had the best of it. Down my way it was not strong and it was up nad down too much. I tried NM's but could not get good wind long enough

WELL DONE EVETS!!  That is a sterling effort, it takes real determination to crank out that many k's in substandard conditions.  And well done on a 19 alpha also!  Congratulations Smile

Thanks Nebs, I had a great dayCool. With my consistently (comparitively) low top speed I am really pleased I managed 150 in patchy conditions. As for the alpha, I might look at checking that tomorrow as it is close to the alpha for the guys who were going 3-6 knots faster so maybe i have a dodgy reading!Undecided

Well done guys. top effort by the distance crew.

Thought about coming down as I had the arvo off. Waited at Pt Walter but it never really happened.

Steve, looking at your tracks, still no where near broad enough, you need to be parallel to the shore, on you braodest speed runs, you are a long way off that angle and therefore not reaching the speeds you wish to achieve.  My fastest runs were all at an angle virtually parallel to the shore.

The conditions were not great throughout the day lao shi but it was great being on the water. I know this is not what you want to hear but: you should have tbeen thereWink. Perhaps next time!

Congratulations on the distance pb Pepe, when you were there the conditions were so variable it was a struggle staying on the water: either so much you were likely to take off or so little walking was faster!

Cannot believe you had your GPS turned off for your fast run at the end. Bugger!

Hey Steve, forgive me for not knowing, but is this the first time 2 of your results have contributed to our monthly figures???

You must be well pleased with that!

You know what will happen now, you'll be looked on to take the day off and do the distance thing, if there's good wind mid week.

great effort on the distance Steve as well as Decrep'sTongue out i knew you guys where going for it and it was an awesome effort in very average conditions to keep going in the lulls between the squalls.i think Claude and i where very lucky we had both rigged big gear as well the small stuff making it a lot easier to keep going, other wise it may have been a different story!

Yes Mike this is the first time 2 of my results have counted. Several times it has looked as though I was going to have this and then another person posted and relegated me to also ran!Smile As you say Steve it was sometimes a struggle on the smaller gear, but it was just great to be on the water!
