Slowboat (49283km): Another Melville dawn patrol. Team Capt Pete was a little slow off the mark and needed multiple phone calls to get him down there. Snides was first on the scene. It was still pitch black when I got there. Claude turned up a little while later. It was cold, wet and miserable so took a while to get motivated to rig. Snides and PD on the mission first up. Then Claude and I. The "workers" didnt stay long before bailing off to have some fun at their desks. The wind held out till about 2pm. By which time Ado and Matt turned up for some mission time. Great fun. Good gusts in the mid 20s. I used the 6.6m all day, with SP47 and 23cm KA symmetric fin. The chop started off totally mental, but smoothed off a tad by lunchtime as the mega-high tide started to drop. Got my fastest run in front of a rain squall where I actually got overpowered for the only time all day. I guess that one hit 30kts but the chop was a bit tricky to convert it to more than 38.8 on the dial. I was on the verge. Not a lot of kms for time spent there. hmmm. I was knackered from yesterday. Claude the machine pumped out some distance today. He didnt look tired at the end.
Snides (28038km): nice early sess before/during work... ca 50,kon5.8,falcon 28. definetly overpowered for the short time i was on the water, even with 9kg's on i was still overpowered. pretty good conditions generally. gusting to 25 i guess, nice runs down through the swells off majestics. great going Chris, and i imagine Claude has had another great day as well...hats of to you guys running through the ocean!!
Claude (28076km): Great fun on Swan ocean once again , Isonic 86 , 6.1 & 29cm , 18 - 25knts with the odd 30knt gust , Slowey in a class of his own today , those big km's will have to wait for warmer days , Chris and Pete clowning around getting everyone exited about nothing. |
