Made the long awaited pilgrimage to Sandy Point based on forecast that was on and off so many times it did my head in, but eventually it just had to be done. It was reasonably windy today at 25+, but the course was completely square so it was a case of really trying to hold the power down. Used the Manta 49 with the 5.8 Koncept and Falcon 26 and sailed until my arms were finished. Very cold, very sandy and very very flat. I felt sensations and noises from my board that I have never experienced before. Though I wasn't super quick today compared to Slowy & Dan, I was still managed to be competitive with everyone else so was happy just to have this experience under my belt.

I should add that you would expect great alphas on a square course, but the reality is that it's hard to make great gybes when you can't feel your hands or your feet!

glad we stuck it out through the high tide... while the others were enjoying warm showers we were making the most of the best of the day. Even though it was more square the wind had picked up enough to get better times... I just got home (3 hours after the plane landed) thanks to yet another mitsubishi moment... thank goodness for the RAC (again).
