25 (14457km): Nice after work session at my new local - Peli Point. A bit undercooked on 5.8 Koncept 08. Used Gladiator 95 for the early part of the session [windiest] when I had intentions of going for an hour but settled for a few alphas. A few runs across the river mostly airbourne had me changing down to CA 47 and 26 tectonics falcon. Wind eased towards the end. Vote 1 for daylight saving!!!
Slowboat (49283km): Great day on the Swan. 5.8m all day but mostly underpowered. Started at Melville using the SP44 and a CL23Asy. Got some nice squirts over the shallows. The wind got very patchy and I noticed the LE of the fin was getting a bit rough so I decided to try the SP40 with CL21Asy. That felt great and even though the wind had dropped I still got a 38 on the dial in the chop in front of the carpark. I then did a couple of runs on the SP50 but the wind was getting super patchy. Then out came the virgin CA62 slalom board. It was getting late but I thought I'd better break it in so I strapped it up and chucked in a CL35slalom fin and headed off to Peli with the 5.8m. Got my best NM of the day on the first run. The wind was heaps stronger at Peli, so it was fun with the big fin. Did some slalom with Rowan and Luke, then it was getting dark so headed back to Melville. The wind was super light up there (and had been for a while apparently) but there was enough volume to float in. Great day! Hope we get some more of these this summer.
Tim Stockton (3894km): very quick session @ PW from about 7-8pm after uni. wind seemed pretty patchy, only got close to powered on one run. setup feeling very good though; RSR 5.8 missile S jp30@30. The fin seemed to match up with the board very well, trimming great, and not catching any weed (some light weed @ pw).
Claude (28076km): Nice session at Peli Point, SW wind , started with W49, 6.1CR and then Isonic 86. Great speeds by PD and Slowey in this chop. |
