Sammy the snail (29353km): Wind looked to unstable and not strong enough at that time to go to Hardies, so for a changed I had a quick 11.00 to 12.00 blast at my local before the tea-bags come in.. success Wind was really gusty and felt like winter kind of weather I will say 13-23 knots max WSW, my runs was unusual . I should setup the 6.7, but was wishing for the 20-30 so had the 5.8 up! mmmh... I did a faire bit of waiting on the sandbar..tide was mid high so managed to sail through both side with a 24cm which made my run a bit longer and had a test of the swell in the bay . I think the boys at Hardies had better gusts that here, hopefully they bring some nice numbers.. As I was leaving around 13.00, I could see a big storm coming, it looked fantastic.... maybe was those 20-30 I was waiting for!? I managed to make it home as it start raining oooh well.. next time Overall, good fun, good session . CA50, 5.8RSS, 245SS/40 Ultra
Hardie (35820km): Awesome sail, you missed out Sam it was flat and strong wind. F2 Missile S Gaastra Vapor 6m, Hardie Special 22cm 40degree weed. Well done on Decrep for his PB, and also well done Pepe on his PB>
Pepe47 (12846km): 5.5 v6 92l fsw, 26cm weedie, changed later to 6.0 v6 and 110l x-cite 30.5cm weedie (used to be 31), What a blast. No chance of keeping up with the big boys but had a great day. Looking forward to seeing Decrep's post, watch for the numbers.

Craw (4307km): winter is back?had lots of short runs at melville with many breaks waiting for gusts to come thru, didn't do any long runs as most likely would have ended up swimming and waiting for the next gust with yachts bearing down on ya,still a pb for the board/sail/fin combo.then spent some time on the beach with slowie drooling over his latest gear, may have to get me a speed board!hear that santa! 7.2 rs slalom mk11/109 jp super sport/37 stock fin
Elmo (31521km): JP Slalom IV 104L, NP RS4 6.7m, JP Slalom III 36cm Also NP RSS MK II 5.8m, JP Freeride Weed 36cm. Tactical sail today targeting distance with the Master (Decrep), normally this isn't my cup o tea as my fitness is crap but Hardies recent PB's gave us the incentive to try and reclaim my spot on ye ladder... curse you Hardy
It was quite hard to start with as it was quite gusty and the 6.7 was way overpowered, especialy watching Claude, Tim and Hards beltling down the speed run. Eventually got my poop together and changed down, got a few runs and the wind backed of, so back ye olde trusty 6.7 again. Big Thanks to Decrep, Tim and Nebs for giving us someone to chase when I was hurting Was a fun day, hard work wihich I'm not used to. Big Congrats To Hardy, Decrep and Pepe for the PB's Claude had the red mist in front of his eyes today curtesy pf Kato recent exploits
Decrepit (54652km): What a great day lost count of the PB's, every time you looked up somebody was shaking hands! Started out with the waihu and 6.0 lightning, fond it a bit too much for distance work, was pumping up my forearms. Clever Elmo said put up your speed gear (old speed board and 5.2 X15) and just go upwind and play on the sandbank. Best advice for ages, improved my 2sec PB by almost a sec. Should have stayed there, but I went back to base to spread the message. Nebs and Claude joined me there, but wind had swung a bit more southerly and dropped off, Bummer!!!! I had trouble getting back so I could change up. As far as I was concerned wasn't ideal conditions for distance, wind up and down and choppy water in the middle. But Claude justs eats it up, amazing to watch. All results calculated by RS 1.927, alpha tackpoints, the rest dopler, including distance. evets (21500km): short afternoon ( after wind) blast. Deliberately short as still nursing foot injury. well done to everyone else. Came off water with developing migraine. Managed to reduce it with Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and a short sleep . JP265, maisch weedy, Tush 6.5 Had fun racing Nebs but rarely felt good. Toe and head pain got me off the water Did not get this combo sailing up wind today, not sure what I had changed as have been fine in the past. Am going to try reducing the cord on my Maisch fin a bit anyway to try to get it's top speed up a bit. Just adding the GE image |
