A nice summer SW'er for cruising. Laughing

IS87, KA30cm, KA 2010 5.7m.

Tried for a NM at Sandy 'B' but with tide running out it was too rough with standing waves and 3 knots+  current againt the run direction.

I decided to come back later at low tide and I did but by then the wind had died. Frown

Lots of potential there but only on low tide with SW or West wind.

Best MN was actually running past the end of the normal speed course in the channel until I ran out of wind behind the dunes. Good run but quite a slow start square in the chop. Dr Cam did a really good one that way though! Laughing

Light Sou-wester where I spent a fair bit of the day walking around the beach, back and forth from naut mile attempts.

Best one was from the launch area to about 500 meters past the red buoy.

RSR 7.0 evo2,CA sp44&sl55.

tried for some alphas and nautical miles on a few different tracks. happy with the nautical mile result but alphas using a big fin were a bit of a mess.

Well I'm already in trouble Sam!!!

In about 2 sessions, Mal is now equal with me for this year, (legends category). Think my winning streak may have come to an end.

Especially if that NM had a gybe in it!!!! (I guess not with those max speeds.)

top NM mal. great to have you on board!

did you do that down the speed course and way past the red buoy, or the more traditional run across the inlet (spottys NM)?

hi mike & stuart. the course was the normal speed course extended by bearing away before the red buoy to minimise the wind shadow of the bottom dunes then gliding through and getting a second wind. the track shows i could have done maybe 1 knot better by staying further off the wind at the end of the course.
