Adam (8003km): Very hard going through the chop at safety bay today, gusts well over 30, happy with the results given the conditions wish I had been able to head elsewhere, going to be some epic speeds posted tonight I think only one kite out and the max sailors was about 5 at one stage people would show up come out do one or two runs then go i again Carbon Art SP50, NP RSSlalom 5.8, FO 23cm weedy
Hardie (35820km): Mission Accomplished, feel redeemed, went out to do an Alpha PB, and cracked that on the iSo 86, Gastra Vapor 5.5m, and LE Weed 27cm, got 37.14 on the dial with that board, its a sweetie!!!!!!!! Then put the Missile S to work, immediately 37.6 on dial then I saw a 38.1ish37.08 38.84 39.01, and decided not to push my luck, after I saw Matt totally destroy his board, fin mast , but at least he's OK, there was 40kts for the taking today, and 2 guyz took it!!!!!!! I wish Sam was back, hope he is and went to Point Walter, really a day for PB's!!!!!!!1
Bender (23190km): Lechenault Inlet SSE'er 20-25knts and very shifty and on/off F2SX63, RSR Evo1 6.7m, 32cm weedy custom It was really flukey wind that as swinging all over the place. The tide was really low, it looked like someone had pulled the plug. Spent the time fanging square up and down the main boat channel in mirror smooth water. Pity its only 10m's wide and 600m long. Overall happy with my speed saling square to the wind.
Decrepit (54652km): Main mission today was to test the mod to the new speed board, ( I cut off the hump at the back to increase stability), passed with flying colours. The board is now much more comfortable, and even gybes better. Gave me a PB for hardie's run, 26.15 on the dial. Looks like I came in too soon, the inside run was really hotting up, heard a couple of very loud YEHAASSSSS from guess who.
Went out early with the old board to do some alphas before the wind got too strong, should have done a few more, might have matched hardie's fantastic effort.
Craw (4307km): 6.2rss mk111,62jp ss,29 ss fin got off work early, told the boss had an appointment with the doctor from fremantle, mellvile looked shallow so decided to go to wally world.Wow what a turn out the place was packed to the gills with sailors, and no smelly kiters,'twas very shallow and I was nicking the bottom on many runs, best speed done on my first run, starting to think i need something smaller in the board/fin department to get to my goal of a 40.Great arvo with a great crowd to sail with.A big thimbs up to all those with pb's. PS.I think slowy must have borrowed a time machine this morning going 6 months into the future and bringing some interesting sails back and proudly showing us what they can do.
Elmo (31521km): JP Speed 54, NP RSR 5.8m, Elmo Chopbuster Weed 29cm, & Elmo Weed 45° 25cm. The Muppet dance was well and truly danced tonight Yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh Got down to watch Hardz and Decrep laying down some nice gybes and when the gusts hit them mid turn some good Elmo's , thought this could be game on. Rigged the speed board and put the chopbuster on as it looked fairly bumpy, when the boys came in for a break they gave us the low down on a line I would never have thunk of, Huge Thanks Guys Followed Snides (I sacrificed him to see if he'd stack it) and saw the normal run was diabolical. so I went back to where the H & D recommended, first run ooooooooooo very nice, second run 37+ 3rd run 38+, watched Matt go down hard sailing inside the posts from what I hear destroying most of his kit, sincerely hope he's ok. Back at the start Hardz has got a 38.9 on the Dial The Big Fella's got his Mojo Back, Farken Awesome Head of down the run 37+ get of out side the post move my foot and got tagged in the heal by a cobbler fortunately it's only a little one, sail back to the start Tim's already got a 40 on the dial, F**k the foot it'll may me make my back foot lighter, take of bear away gust hits beautifull slingshot run 40.7? on the dial yopu little ripper Got another 40.4 and a 40.2 on the dial the gusts were huge the slingshot was great fun and realy wide so much so that I brown trousered myself trying to turn the board up wind a few times when it was still trying to go down wind on the gust Had some great Muppet moments as the was a bit of weed clumping near the start of the high speed bit, I hit these a few times and fortunately it didn't want to catapult you just spun out the fin, I can say catagorically the Speed 54 handles a dream going sideways at 38+knots, had at least 3 of these happen which defiantely gave me some major spincter excersize This is a true 2 sec PB for me as earlier one was done with trackpoints (the joys of Garmin) which only had a on the dial speed of 39knots so if Nebs can reset the previous PB that would be sweetWell happy little Muppet, Huge Congrats to Hardz for his Alpha PB, awesome stuff considering the wind
man of (3048km): Well looking for more speed certainly took its toll on me and my gear last night.I hit a rock in the shallows doing 30. My fin got pushed up into my board and smashed the deck. Somehow the nose is smashed up also. Broke my 460 mast also. I felt OK walking with my stuff back in and it was'nt untill I got half way home I had the most intense pain to the right of my back bone. As things got worse during the evening it was making me hurl several times. Lucky Bec was over and took me to the hospital. Got the jab on the butt and other lollies. At this point the pain was so extreme I was willing to try anything. It seems I've torn a mussel. So things feel a lot better now and I'm having a day at home. Be careful out there!
