I wonder how much aerodynamic drag 4-500mm of snot has?

Went out today for a bit of a cruisy sail after getting a bad case of the dreaded lurgi last week.

Was nicely powered up but my strength and coordination wasn't realy there to utilize it properly.

Spent a fair bit of the session experimenting with mast foot settings.

Good to see quite a few crew out having fun tonight.

After calling the distance attempt off last night for lack of participants, Pepe texted me this morning, unfortunately I was far from ready to go, but got there about 1030.

Up and down SE, rigged the 7.0 GTX on the Thommen with the herby fin, would have been better on the board in the shaping bay, but as it's only got the bottom sandwich on it so far, that wasn't possible.

Managed 25kms on the 7.0, came in for lunch and the wind swung and picked up. Changed down to the lightning 6.0, this did me for the rest of the day. Had a brief go on the new speed board, but not enough wind for it, I still needed 40km, and that wasn't possible on this small board.

Thanks Pepe for making it happen!

Might have been able to help out more if not for sailing back from the run with my harness around the back footstraps. Reckon I dodged a bullet with the lack of damage to the fin box, and fin. Tore the barrel nut off the fin screw with only cosmetic damage.

Reprofile the fin and change the barrel nut and she'll be apples Wink
