Sandy Point, Vic, AU

day 3

RSR 6.7m SX68, GW34.

Nice fun sesh in the NW'er in the morning. Tried one run ina squall down the Pit run and had a near death experience (a 6.7m in 35Knts+ is rather ring clenching). Put it this way Crasher went down on a 5.5m. Learnt a lot. I then rigged the 5.0m and the CA50 and spent thr next 4hrs shivering waiting to for the wind to swing but to no avail.

Tomorrow i will be a bit more organised.

Yell How do ya go from 39.4kts display to 38.88 2 sec doppler?  I hate fucking doppler!!!!!!!!!!  5.5m vapor  missile s c3 strike 22cm  wind mostly west with some nrth in it, too broad, haD ONE KILLER run, and  ran inti sand bank, and luckily didnt kill myself, six hrs in a frzing cold wet wetsuit, for 2 runs, was 20 mins too late for the best winds, contgrats to Dav morhead, and casher for their Pb's

wahoo what the physical session with lot of walking....! great experience

Skip, or let say missed on the morning session, you can tell by my NM... Innocent

And then the arvo was really gusty, most of people went home and I had a late start again, and sailed with only a full hand of guys (5).

It was realy hard at first with the high tide and very broad and very gusty, then the tide went down and eased a bit the things out.

Today was the first time I sailed the run that way and was not quite sure what to do.. I have to say I got chicken sh*** every time near the end, with thoses chops and been so broad, stopping was a challange.

I use for the first time that fin too and want to see gradually if I could trust it... it never let me down and go upwind good

Great to sail with thoses guys, they look so comfortable, look amazing to see them passing by... those Tassy boys are good yehWink

My gear felt perfect tuned strait up and nicely powered on the 5m, end up been a great session with started crap for me.

crasher is just warming up... Good to see you all had some wind over there. Timing the squalls requires a bit of guesswork- especially when the wind comes through as a bullet that only lasts 10 or 15 seconds. Just make sure you arent down the end when the squall starts. Keep an eye on the clouds. Enjoy! Its a treasure over there.
