RIGGS (8399km): Great sail at wello, good wind but still very gusty. Very choppy waves close together and steep, hard to get good speed. Pointed up high into the bay and had a few good runs in the flatter water before it got too shallow. Had one really good run way down wind and was running with the swells this worked pretty well. is86, 6.3 blade, 34 venom
ODIN (38126km): Oh man i am rooted!!!!! 3 days sailing and 3 times clocked 100km thats really to much ... Decided today to rig the 6.2 for the first time to get it slowly stretched.. The wind was a bit patchy at first could have easly been on the medium kit with the 7.0 but i was still keen to try out the 6.2 a bit underfinned to do any serious drag racing simply just need a bigger fin for this board to do so... Today was pretty much for bump n jump gear , heading out on a starboard tack run we were sailing directly against the pointy chop and swell you just could not fully lock it in , it was pretty hard work today , especially for me really totally waisted of energy from last 2 days of sailing... After a fair decent sailing n tunning i went back in to put more tension on the batterns and cams and retune it again. As the tide dropped down it was time for speedsailing it was really hard to get the right gusts , still again just way to patchy and actually the best speeds wernt done at the beggining but towards the end of the run that was time when u had to stop , getting really to choppy even though the whole run was choppy ,pretty scary some of the runs ..... I would have loved to have my Nude 54 but the forecast wasnt even close to what we had today DAMMMM , but in the gusts was a good 25kts something we havent seen for a long time!!!!! The 6.2 pulls like a tractor full of power and wants more but even better very stable and controlable this sail really rocks its a shame i was too fatigued to really give it a go but still tried my hardest to squeeze every once of energy , not very wise
Wel done to Vando for cracking some good times on the medium board , good stuff buddy .... Good to see most of the crew out , well done guys..

phil (50139km): Always wanting more wind and finally plenty today. Only problem was that I kept backing of in the gusts- hate that Just could not get settled in the chop. Sonic 95, Blade 6.3, Tect 34. Wellington Point, QLD, AU
Albert P. Jonsson (11746km): Wello late session, but not late enough to get the flatter water, before I got tired! Falcon 111, Daytona 5.4, MK7 fin 29. The wind was good but too gusty and it was too choppy for my body to handle it. Disappointed I did not get any good gybes, always seemed to dig in the rails and stop instead of coming smoothely through. May be the fin was too short. I often seemed to loose the grip, cause the board has a big tail. It was a joy to watch Vando and Pierre take the jybes though, in strong gusts, that I did not dare to start them.
Vando (58438km): Wellington Point, QLD, AU wow what a day prob the best in a long while and teh most ks Ive done in bout 4 months. I pushed the ankle a fair bit today and its feeling pretty good. Both Pierre and me opted for the 6.3s today to spend some time on them, prob could have been on the 7s most of the time. Nice drag racing with Pierre,Julian at the start then went for some speed runs later. Pretty stocked with the speeds on the med kit and 36 fin, none of us had our speed boards today forecast was only 15-20 but we had a good 25 knots today. Blade 6.3 felt great today it really hammers off the wind. now i need rest zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Brad Cawthorne (6190km): I didn't get round to taking my broken sails to the sailmaker so I had a 7.7 or 5.2 to choose from. 7.7 it was. And it was too much breeze for the 111 so stuck it on the 95 with a 33 so9. Not the best match but it's amazing how quickly you get used to it. No cracking speeds but a good day out at one stage all the tea baggers *^$#ed off and no boats, either clean water for a change. The Train, Southport, QLD, AU
ZbRider (5991km): Well, It was a great day at Wello, wind - Sunsine - good companey - what else do you need . I was pushed to the limits with the choppy conditions however I manage to pull of some good runs. I'm very happy with the results and I'm getting back on track. NP RS 5.8 - Exocet 62 - C3 32cm. Cheers Bisek
Jemo (6461km): Lake cootharaba On off wind, but good fun as I only had 6 runs for 24km. 7.8switchblade Ca75, 46 Venom which was a handful at times.
Grumpy (8011km): Had a 4 day weekend in Caloundra with my better half. I was hoping to crack 30 but just didn't have enough wind. I can't believe how easy it is to go fast on flat water. 29kts in Yeppoon and I'm a car crash looking for somewhere to happen. 29kts on the flat water was like coasting downwind on a sunday drive. The tide was a real bitch. Must have been 4kts of tide pushing down wind. Takes heaps of power away. 101isonic, 7.3switchblade, 40 Talon. Golden Beach, QLD, AU |
