Had to try out the new board, not enough wind most of the time.  Izaak I am feeling heaps better for getting out at last but the neck feels a bit secondhand after that catapult, not a good idea to break a batten with your headEmbarassed

CA sp40, fin C3 assy strike 20,  KA 2011 5.8

I forgot to add: highlight of the day watching Izaak do a one handed lay down gybe and sail away that was awesomeCool

Absolutely ballistic. Good fun trying to hang on, chop going all directions, good jumping day, pity the gps challenge doesn't cover jumping height as well.Laughing

Speed sail at Dorans.  Sailed iSonic 86 with Venom 34 and Reflex 5.6m.  Very windy.  Almost too windy to really go for it as the wind would gust through really strong at times and you wouldn't want to be going for it and then suddenly have another 10 knots of wind hit you.  Some flatter sections in the middle of the bay where you could hold the speed for a while.  A bit too choppy to try 1 hr or NM.  Most of the time it was sheeted out sailing until you could see a good stretch of flat water and then power off the wind.  Hoping to get a 40, but just too dicey!!  Russel was hooting and getting some massive jumps.

Thanks for the support guysCool

Dave well done!! fantastic speed in what was a fun run with you off the wind I think we were all lucky not to get spanked todayCool

Always good to have a buddy of your skill pushing me. I would love to know what the Kaos 4.7 was doing but I have to say I was happy how fast that wave sail goes and so nice in the air as well.

Next time let's put a six pack on the peak speed Tongue out

Cheers Russ

Well done on the PB Russ. Dave nice 37 2 sec (fast for Dorans), I thought you would have been on the 49 in that wind. I should have been there but used up all my brownie points yesterday. I definately choose the wrong day cos it looked ssssoooooo windy from home.

Well done evryone who sailed today, probably the windiest day in months.

Tried the W49 for a few runs, but it felt too flighty in the super windy conditions and I reckon a high-speed crash would have happened if I'd stayed on that board.  The bigger 86L board felt more in control, so stuck with that.  Had two runs over 37 on the display.  I reckon the 86Slim would have been good today.

Hey Dave sounds like you guys have been getting some really good wind there. I was watching the charts and saw some big wind heading  your way. Saw the pics on SB from Dorans- looks awesome. The chop looks really quite consistent and smooth. I'd kill to see some wind like that here. We've had a shocker of a year for wind. My small gear is covered in dust. A visit to Tas is definitely on the list.

I have done a 24 knot one hader lay down but bit scared to go too fast around the corner with one hand off.Any way goes to show it's just a matter of time, four times with 40 on the dial then smashed into it.
