I know portlands not the fastest place but all the same a very disappointing before work session, no excuses someone better could have gone a lot quicker.

I had hoped for achieving a 40 average today. Not to be.
Spent most of the day fighting the kit and hitting the speed limiter around 37-38 knots. Don't know why. Anyway a walk to the ray and back can be grueling but it does feel ever so good when you land your kit back on the grass at the end of the day!
Good to see everyone out and meet folk again.
Sorry about the zeros in the aplha and mile. I cant explain this.... they were only very small numbers anyway!

Arrived 9am, looked very windy and forecast to increase more, opted for 5.8 which ended up about right, after that good call everything went tits up. After alot of faffing about and one decent run my fin decided to snap at 44knots resulting in my fastest crash to date (PB).

So dissapointing numbers for a great forecast but still good fun. 

Anyone selling a TM45???

It seemed quite light wind compared to the extreme wind earlier in the day. A bit grey and drizzly in the evening. Close to a nautical mile PB, again it included a gybe that I didn't carry any speed through. I can't get a smooth rotation of the camber induced sail.

How is it that the runs that feel quick aren't and the ones that don't are?

Seen the conditions mate and watched Camel go back out i think you need to be a bit special or weird to go faster(but then he is one of two in pod)? Wind too square to the beach so death runs into the chop for sure, no problem for me broken my ankle again second time in 9 months!!! I expect no windsurfing until November if i'm lucky? Find out tomorrow what fun...........

I think 40+ in what I saw is Amazing! I drove past when I went to the warfarin clinic, far too much west in the wind for a 40 I thought...... Brilliant effort Pete. You are right someone better could go a lot quicker.....trouble it there arent many better if any, shame Alastair is not there today and then you would know how fast someone better could go.

Hopefully I will get a small session in (nothing worth posting) tomorrow, first in 6 weeks now.

Ian...Ouch, thats a new one for you, crashing at 44knts!  Just a thought do fins come with a guarantee?

Swagger...my commiserations.  Not been your best week.  Tangle with a 'blind' kitesurfer and now another broken ankle.  Get well soon and avoid too many of the liquid painkillers!

Swags, we can keep the kettle warm for the others ;-) Sorry to hear about it and if you need anything let me know as I have just been signed off for a month.....not sure whether I should be sad or happy or both.

Jim, great stuff, I expect you had the advice of Alastair which helped you get the Pb's

Ian, as I said of stalkerbook good job it was just the fin and not yourself.

Griff, next time you see me down there I can have a go rigging your cammed sails, I have different masts now and you need to try the different bend curves.....what mast and sail combo are you using. I rigged the simmer 7m with a tush, it nearly broke the cam and would NOT rotate at all. Got the north gold 460 delivered and it rotates without wind....amazing the difference and I think I understand a lot more about it now. Oh and Good speeds Griff, they are defintely improving well. Nice one.
