Pelican Point, WA, Sonic 90, Reflex6.2, Choco speedweed 30

Quick session at Peli, one run deep into the flat stuff in on the sandbank felt super sweet although I pushed my luck a little too long and the snot got me! Sail felt awesome off the wind. Crazy chop with the yachts going around close to the speed run. Great fun and a Peli PB for me.

Short sail at Safety Bay today, wind was howling 25-30+ at times but the tide was too high for fantastic speeeds. The strip had breaking swells rolling over it Surprised Foot still healing so had to wear a single bootie - man those things SUCK to sail with. You can't feel what the board is doing at all. The new Ram is super stable, just need some flatter water please!

Tabou 115 and 105 rocket, new 5.7 Hellcat, 22 and 27 choco wed fin.

Gusty and bouncy, sometimes underdone on the Hellcat, other times, hard to hold down. Funny how from one sail (Loft) to another(NP)  the mast track position needs to change a bit to keep comfortable.

Looking a wind graph when I got home, no wonder I was bouncing all over the shop at times, it pumped from 13 to 21's all afternoonSurprised

Good to catch up with a couple of the Manbra guys, and yarn a bit with Steve who has moved house to Albany.

I'm back on the board... Pat's old board actually...  First time I have usd itSmile and, I like itLaughing

Small over the bars after a close encounter with some weed near da sand bar... boom... ka boom... Now in need of a new carbon slalom boomYell

Will be sailing as much as I can this summer... Maybe not much next weekend... Gotta go to Kuming and Shangri-la... Sigh... 7 days in  oz, and off againUndecided

Smellville. Pat's old board - tabou something-or-other 86 litres, Blade 6.2, leading edge fin... say 10 yrs oldTongue out

Oh, and I have lost 12 kg, and everything feels so much better on the water... except myboards are all too big - hence the tabouLaughing

Good turnout with a solid breeze.  I think all the Perth and Mandurah-based teams were represented today.

Thirsty point was quite choppy so the speed run was set up a few hundred metres further north in more protected waters.

The helicopter was there today and made an interesting spectacle.

I had a poor session - my mast exploded coming out the back end of a jybe early on - fortunately only 50m from shore - so a short swim back to the beach to re-rig.

Great team turn out and welcome back, Pugsie!Surprised

Wohoo! Damo! nice PB.

Great numbers, Snake!Cool Bugger about the foot.

Unfortunately I was captain slowEmbarassed but JJ and Pointy still to post.

I had such a buzz on after the heli shoot that I missed the best of the wind.

heli

Great turnout and thanks to Reg, Col and the speed ladies for a great day.

Fantastic day on the water, was happy to see a 30.08 displayed Cool

Any day over 30 is a real speed sailing day for me!  Chop was horrendous when bearing away, but to do 30 through the moguls is pretty good for me!

Good to see Macka Packa in amongst it.

Thanks to Reg for a great day and for organising a boom for Steve Schneider to sail out to me. Thanks Steve.

I was slowly drifting north to Broome.

No more second hand booms for me. Chris was spot on with his KaBoom joke.

Great to see a good turnout of Pinnaroos - I think Greg got fastest speed and good to meet a whole bunch on new crew.

And what a sweet drive to Cervantes.  A fast trip back as Norts copped a sting ray barb in his foot.

Day 2 at Cervantes doing runs at the speed gun.

Had a short earlier sesh doing the Heli photo shoot which was a crazy buzz.  Looking foward to seeing the result.

That took a while, so I didn't make it down to the speed comp til 3ish.

Started out on the trusty Futura 111 + 7.6 TR7 + 38 Sting combo and scored a 60km/hr reading on the gun.  Decided to give the small board a try and plugged in the 90 XFire + 34 Talon.  Smokin combo, got my best speeds on this set up, but unfortunately they didn't capture the attention of the radar gun operator, so 60km/hr remained my best scoring run.

A great arvo of sailing and socialising.

Had a few hairy moments charging the gun, but I'm loving the 90, she's a sure-footed rocket ship Cool

That's fast Jake, and a nice alpha too.

Congratulations Damo. There were some monumental gusts coming through, I'm surprised you weren't lifted off the water with a 7.5
