Woohoo!! Just snuck over 30 knots for the open ocean nautical mile at Leighton! This has been something I have been trying to get for a while now, so I am really stoked to finally get there! Smile

Beautiful conditions today with sunny skies and breeze in the 20-22 knot range.

Used the Manta 59, Warp 7.0 and Talon 32.

Another Heli video by Col of the same gear in the same place (on Thursday) here;

leighton, arrived as Ado and Craig were packing up ,  think the wind might have ramped a few knots as I rigged. am really getting comfy on the iso86 rs6.7 tectonics falcon combo in the ocean (had 3 nms over 30Surprised).

Melville, 7.0, Mistral 91, CL 29. Was desperate to try my new fin design, and made a 29cm expecting a bit more breeze. There some good bullets but too shortlived to get high speeds. Even the 10 sec runs were hard to find, with most of mine out in the middle of the river in the chop. Anyway, considering how gusty it was, I'm stoked with how the fin was going. Better make some bigger ones since apparently its not windy in Perth this summer. Merry xmas everybody!!

GREAT numbers John!! - wow I guess 31 is the new 30 eh?

Bring it on!

Amazing to still be going faster after so many years of windsurfing, and just on a stock standard seabreeze day on the coast at Leighton. Nothing special about the conditions but the speeds just keep going up and up!

Ado I put it down to time on the water,its just that for us average citizens ,jobs families etc it takes 30 years of very part time sailing to get  above an average level,they say if you spend 10,000 hrs doing anything you will be good at it!

There's hope for us yet then!

Let's get to 31 before Slowy steals our thunder!! Jesper has had a 30.9 I think, so 31 remains unchartered territory.

too late. If you posted that message before I went sailing perhaps I might have just stayed home and eaten another fruit mince pie Tongue out

The new number is 32.
