Slowboat (49283km):
4715 days ago sneaky Christmas sail at Port Beach. 1 hour included rigging and derigging.
Well that was interesting. It looked windier than it was and I was keen to try my new 29cm fin with a more appropriate sail size, so I used the 6.2m with the Mistral 91.
Pretty underpowered most of the time with the wind a lazy 18-22. I hooked one bullet heading out for a nice bit of slingshot action and I think a non-sausage Port Beach PB with a 36.7 on the dial. If the gust lasted more than 2 or 3 seconds I'm sure it would have been a lot faster.
Tried a NM but wasnt really juiced... thought I might have scraped 30 since I was underdone for a lot of it so wasnt sailing as broad as usual, and the max was only 33. WHOA HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! 32 is the new 30.
Anyway I think the fin rocks
Round 3 family engagements coming up. Looks like theres some wind at the Beaver again, and it seems to be filling in nicely elsewhere. Merry xmas everyone...
Edit:
Looks like counting in my head worked a treat for not going too far... And when I thought I was going slow it was still over 30.
