Pointman (25840km): Melville Beach Fun little blat in the late arvo on my old faithful combo....F111 + 7.6 TR7 + 38 Sting. Mostly a bit underdone on this set-up, but a few nice little squirts. Had some fun drags with Sean. We were quite evenly matched despite my extra 2.5m of sail (bloody lightweights ) Breeze was patchy, but filled in nicely right on sunset. Got my peak speed on the last run of the day sailing pretty much by feel in the semi-darkness.

JJ (25827km): Lake Preston, WA, AU Road trip to YoYo's with Lao - had a couple of sublime runs in super smooth water but it was a matter of timing the bullets of wind. Most of the time we were standing waist deep in mud waiting. The salty water and mud arn't too bad though, it was well worth the trip for those few classic runs. And it's a beautiful place. I think the wind was finally building at about 5 when I had to leave and I expect some good speeds from Slowy and the Manbra team. Isonic 86, Code Red 6.1, Falcon 32
scarrgo (8964km): Melville Beach, WA, AU an ok day at melville only took the small gear and it didn't quite turn on till late but i tell you what the water was nice and flat and when i did start to get powered up it was some of the best fun i've had out sailing for a while, probably also because of all the screwing around with the great crew out there today, there was a hell of alot of yarrr hooos at the end i got to see daryle go for a body drag and hook in while he was going along the water causing a spectacular catupult, mucking around with snides too (probably more of just annoying him but i had fun and was laughing) pointman came and did some close formation flying with me i would have sat on the nose of his board if he didn't go past me so fast all up just awesome fun did have a pretty good crash when i started to find the weed but all was still ok 5.0 koncept, 90 mistral sl, 30 jp sl
lao shi (41082km): Another promise from Yoyo's that evaporated. May have come in as I was driving home on a deadline. Rigged up in sunshine and had some great rainbows. All speeds on the new toy, iso 90, so.. happy with the top end for a board with a 41cm wide tail! One squall where I had a run down the bar a tailwalking run back to grab Lurch and then it was gone without Lurch getting wet. One good half hour session of fanging around (28knt ish runs) made it worth the journey but an epic day has still to appear! Funny to see the Manbramob ducks on the pond sitting up to their arses in mud waiting for the magic squall as JJ and I sailed around on our "big gear" Loft Racing Blade 6.3, *brd isonic 90 wood, 32 Goldwing |
