Peel Inlet, WA, AU

had the day free which is strange lately

any way i didn't really feel like a drive but getting wind was much more important so i went to melville about 2 ish no wind so i drove to saftey bay got there about 3 ish no wind i hanged around for a bit as well as getting some more fuel but the wind still didn't show so then i drove to mandurah got there about 4 ish and THERE WAS WIND Surprised

Stroppo and decrepit were there already

i rigged the 6.2 to start with and got out on that, i was nicely powered up but still getting into the swing of a place i haven't done much sailing at, and gear that i haven't been on for a long time. i dropped a jybe and broke the batten that holds out the cut out...... bugger

went in and decided that i would try and get going for the first time on a friends 5.6

rigged ok on the enigma and but was not great on the water to start with, after a few adjustments it was going ok and turned out to be the perfect combo as the wind came in even more SurprisedLaughing

was getting some good runs and giving strop a run for his money until he put the pedal down

the NM was my last run of the day other that the upwind back, it's just ssssssoooooo flat everywhere down there, i don't know why this is only the second time i have ever sailed on the estury

6.2 reflex, 5.6 code red, 90 mistral sl, 24 custom weedy

Nice one Sean, may be we'll see more of you.

Alpha land is particularly nice in those conditions, it's not always that nice.

yeh i made a couple of attempts at alphas today but whenever i tried really hard the fin let me down on the jybe, 24 cm weedy in a 57cm wide board doesn't have much grip but i started to remember how to use the rail again by the end of the sesh, it's like i said it's just been so long and i've forgotten all my settings and foot postions for jybing different fins, need some more regular wind so i can get my skill and fitnes back

yes decrepit i'm sure i'll be back more frequently now, especialy in winter and not just hardies Wink

looks like mandurah was the right call just shame i have no backup
