Xcite 120 MUF Delta Slalom Tush 7.5

WSW 12 - 15 kts

Good day to blow out the cobwebs after 6 weeks off the water.  Sailed with a shady lot of desperates.  Mick, Pete, Simmo, Ian, Roy, Josh and Joel, and great to see Geoff back on the water after a broken wrist.

The Delta fin is an interesting fin.  Very sensitive to tuning when not powered up.  Similar to the C3 in that they are a bit of a dog when not on the plane.  Allowed me to have no thoughts of pulling up in shallow water just kept motoring past everyone standing in the shallows.  However that proved to be another issue as you where pulling up in 6in of water and stopping at 25kts.  Dropped in backwards a couple of times and yep it hurt.  I think I would like it to go over shallow into deeper water.  Fin has big potential as I thought I would not have gone too much faster on the c3

Sandy Point, VIC, Au

Headed down to Sandy with Jacques to find a few other regulars there as well.  Forecast was a bit dodgy, but when we arrived it was fine for a cruise on the big gear.

A couple of gust came through and got my big combo up to 33.0peak, had to back off when the board started flying from too much fin lift felt like i was going to do my ankle.

Went and changed down boards but by that stage i was frozen.  I dont recommend sailing at the Pit in July in a 10yr old 3/2 wetty.  Hanging out to either get my wetty back or get the bloody film crew to replace it TODAY!!!

Isonic 101, 7.4 koyote then with Isonic 86slim

BMC Stats: Temp 10.5 Ave Gust 28 Ratio= Not worth submitting.

Da Curve 79, 7.0 Kult, 20.5 MFC. Spent time in the Main channel on the Fanatic 110

That was funLaughing So much for matching fin to board to sail size. Though up wind was a problem...

LOCATION: ANGLING CLUB

WIND: S_SW- 15-20

GEAR:  CA FR77, Hahalua 33 weedie, KA Koyote 8.2 then CA FR63

DETAILS;

Great day sailing and tooling about with the go pros.  The bank was there for the taking if you were prepared to chance it.  Got through on a few runs before it got too shallow.  Spent most of the time at the top end of the bank.

Had a nice off when I ran too close to the bank and slightly dug the fin, which rounded me up onto the shore.  I made a great sand angel in the sand and you could clearly see the first and second impact points until the tide came in.  Once the tide filled, it was still touch and go to get all the way along but it was certainly possible if the right gust came along.

Great to see the younger speedies out there flying, as well as a few grumpy old men to keep the youngies on their toes!
